You do lead a gilded life. I've not experienced AC anywhere really. Certainly not at work or in public transport!
Used to have a summer job fitting it. Involved crawling along the vents and putting in rivets from the inside. Every time I see Bruce Willis or Jack Bauer doing it it looks like you could hold a party inside them. In reality you couldn't turn your head.

    It's how I found out I'm not a claustrophobe!:D

So there I was, happy as Larry .... adding bits and bobs to the site I've been working on for 3 weeks and .... no server. Now waiting for online chat to tell me they're working on it .... which is what they always tell you.

Edit: And I waited all that time for a copy/paste "I'm sorry, but we are experiencing a temporary network outage that caused services to become unavailable. Please check back with us in an hour if your problem persists. If you have any further questions, please chat back in."

And then a cheeky request for me to rate them.....

    I'm tired.

It's been an eventful and busy week!

Offer accepted - started mortgage application earlier in the week, but slightly concerned about how the man at Halifax has inputted a few things - e.g. not sure he understood my explanation of lodging here, but permanent address being parents for everything as lodging has the potential to not be very long term. Going to call back tomorrow and try to speak to someone else to double check. I'm trying to be super honest but I can't prove I live here (lodgers agreement hardly looks official).

Have also decided on solicitor, so that should get going soon....

Work has been quite busy this week - think people are trying to push things through before hols.

I've had today (and taking tomorrow) as annual leave... but going in the office to make the most of air con (sorry PN :)), and company whilst I try to tippety tap away on a keyboard.

Added to not sleeping very well due to heat/ lots going on/ the huge thunderstorm earlier in the week...

    So we are...

I was thinking about you on the way to work this morning, viva. I was thinking that you haven't been around so much lately. Hope all is well with you and that Dr. Tifosi is making steady progress with his recovery.

For all those with spare fruit, who fancy a pie but CBA to cut it out, fit the pastry, cut a lid, make them meet and finish off (also less calories): http://www.deliaonline.com/recipes/cuisine/european/english/a-very-easy-one-crust-gooseberry-pie.html

Thanks Nikks... Drtifosi has been really ill. It is a long recovery (much longer than it should have been if things went to plan) but he appears - after several weeks of very trying circumstances - to have turned the corner and finally be on the road to recovery.

We are very excited as we are going to try and go out on Saturday. It will be the first time he has left the house in the about 6 weeks since he got home from hospital, other than to go to the doctors surgery or briefly to have his hair cut as it had got really long. So big challenge time.

Watching Who Do You Think You Are. I'd love to see the accounts from one of these programmes ... how much those professionals cost and all the travel the subject of the programme does.
