No idea. It wasn't intentional. Maybe all your posts were sparkling with such awesome wonderfulness that I couldn't think of anything worth adding to what you'd said. Plus I'm an ignoramus (ignorama??) about gardening and places to visit.HAMISH_MCTAVISH wrote: »Have now lost almost 20kg.
Which, quite amazingly, is about this much......
Well done Hamish! :T:T:T:T:TDo you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Well done Hamish!
I'm actually annoyed that I've had to dig out old smaller clothes from the attic to wear, after buying loads of new larger ones earlier this year.
I have definitely been hanging around on MSE too long.:o“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

Ok, house sort of ok, food ok, me not ok. Just waiting to take a tart out of the oven before getting shower and slapping some 'me' over the top of this body.

Very, very well done Hamish! Congratulations. :j It's so much easier to put on than to take off.
I've been doing really well on my diet this year, until a week ago. In the last week, I have put on around 3 pounds. We bought lots of Pimms for DW's birthday picnic earlier in the week. Plus there was a load of left-over cake and sandwiches lying around. (I made cucumber sandwiches on white bread, with the crusts cut off and cut into fingers. How cute is that?)
Still, it's one thing to have the temptation around. It's quite another to give in big-time. I gave myself a good talking to in the bathroom mirror this morning, and I made a firm promise to myself. Perhaps that will help? Sigh. Maybe....No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

The cucumber sandwiches sound very proper.
I so agree with the ease of 'putting on' . My social life (now rekindled) seems to be centred around food and drink. Even when we tried 'culture' last night we failed - all in the last 10 days:
Weds - met some nice folks at dinner - fish
Fri - met friends - dinner squid, followed by chicken
Sat - lunch in pub
Weds - dinner squid followed fishcake and pudding
Fri-dinner squid followed by smoked haddock
This next week...diet = no squid0 -

Mint tea here mostly. Currently drinking TWG loose tea..it is absolutely delicious.
Legacy of Giardia was lactose intolerance for a time which had put me off the earl grey with milk I used to drink.
For coffee I now like espresso but it does have all the ill effects so I try to resist. Last night I had decaff espresso..it tasted of nothing really. For years we used an old metal french percolator which made good coffee and now I think about it I am not sure why we stopped. Probably it was unstylish/out moded.
Friends have a nespresso machine which I find gimmicky.0 -
That is so uplifting. I cannot thank you enough.Very, very well done Hamish! Congratulations. :j It's so much easier to put on than to take off.

The inkjet printer (needed for the iron on party bags) is not working - google suggests the heads are clogged from under use and the fix is...buy a new printer. Of course we have a laser printer that works fine but apparently if you put transfers through it they melt on the fuser unit = printer destroyed.
So whilst I spent a few hours last night trying to resolve this the whole home network decides to stop working for reasons unclear, have switched back to the old router and finally got first the wireless lan to work and then 1 pc on the wired lan to work - the other 'half' of the wired network is still broken.
WE are supposed to be getting ready for DD1 party tomorrow but she has lost her glasses she only had for 2 weeks and can't be bothered to look for them - until she does I can't be bothered to do anything for her party.
Lemon I don't think Lydia quoted me either.
Hamish you have put me off spread for lifeI think....0 -
I don't have the money at the moment, but I really like this house. It even has a covered courtyard for me to sit out in the shade...
