what are NP's favorite things to do in paris? going on tuesday and haven't got time to look things up.
My all time favourite holiday for the head Musee d'Orsay. Go straight up to the floor with Manet/van Gogh/Toulouse paintings and rodin sculpture. To queue jump to get in, clutch a moble phone to your ear and walk confidently past the queue whilst speaking French or in a French accent.
Napoleon's apartments at the Louvre.
Sacre-Coeur in Montmatre - lovely basillica, great views, interesting bit of Paris. A good walk up and you can take the funicular if you prefer.
Galeries Lafayette (on Boulevard Houseman) to browse
Any proper restaurant for traditional french cooking in a backstreet location - Zagat is a great guide.
A boat trip along the Seine helps give a sense of perspective.
If you have never done Disney you can get a good feel for it in an afternoon/evening as it is only a metro ride away.
I have spent many short trips there amusing myself whilst OH was there for work when he worked in a commercial world. Generali is expert as he lived there.0 -

Bargain! It's £25 to go up the Shard. Granted it is taller, but you still can't see the Eiffel Tower from it.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Seconding Galaries Lafayette and the Montmatre. I've never managed to get to the Louvre:o. I used to go to Paris for work as we had an office there and really like the Grande Arche, but that would be a bit like someone visiting London and suggesting Canary Wharf. I have probably been about 30 times, but more used to the inside of taxis and departures at CDG than the touristy bits. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? That's why the "Top of the Rock" in New York is better than the "Empire State Building" from the latter you can see the former; far more exciting than the other way round.
We offered DS1 a trip up the Shard and a meal in the restaurant there for his birthday last month, he opted for us to pay for his weekend trip to Copenhagen instead.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Ppffff! 18 minutes is nothing. I spent 38 minutes talking to Santandar this week and 1 hr 42 minutes opening an ISA in April - after Martin Lewis had tipped it on TV.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Also like le cite de la science et l'industre. Lovely wierd cinema there. Speaking of which Futurescope's not far away at Poitiers.

It's hot today. Hot, hot, hot.
My right foot is really, really swollen. Raised them now, but really hurting. I'm going to have to bite the butler and put them in iced water I think.
Lucpnch and tea were both great.0 -

Sharing on a small scale appeals to me, I've had good experiences previously with 1/4 or 1/8 shared ownership of light aircraft and boats, and I'm always surprised more people don't do it with holiday houses.
If a half dozen people teamed up to buy a holiday cottage, you'd be talking about 20K each or what have you, and have 8 weeks a year access. Which would be plenty for most people you'd think.
I agree and we thought of doing it. Do it with friends and you find that you all want it at the same time because either you've all got similar age kids are you all want a winter break. Do it with family and the same thing applies and you have the difficulty of non-contributors but close family wanting to stay/ not being excluded/ wanting to join but can't afford to.....
and then someone suggest everyone staying there together or the older generation staying on over the next persons time allocation.
Getting everyone committed at the same time for the same cost is the tricky thing. We had the "wait 3 years and we could be in" people and the "the olds can't be expected to pay" contradicted with "the olds should buy it outright for all of us to use".
A NP holiday home is a lovely idea. I vote for the Cotswolds Lower Mill Estate. Or if we are going abroad, Spanish coast - Marbella?.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
