Please let me know if I missed anything.
Likewise. I can't see anywhere that I've quoted anything of yours that's no longer there, but do tell me if there's anything you want me to remove.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

The first month was an "ease you into it" thing, lots of food but just much healthier food, so grilled chicken and salads, fruits, that sort of thing. But still around 2000 calories a day.
This month is a bit more extreme, with some very low cal days (under 1200) alternating with some medium calorie days (1500-1750), and a lot more raw veggies, plain grilled fish, etc. Oh, and no alcohol whatsoever.
Last month I was moaning about having to eat yoghurt and granola for breakfast instead of a full English.
This month I'd love to have yoghurt and granola for breakfast....0 -
I think that Whipsnade is the only zoo I've been to that I've felt reasonably comfortable with. The point is that it's vast, so there's loads of space for the animals and a fairly natural habitat**. Of course, from a visitor's point of view it's not great, with all the animals miles away.
**When I say fairly natural habitat, do you really want to see lions being given live prey, say?
Whipsnade .....and those fab capybaras . I'd love lawn capybaras instead of old fashioned lawn ponies. They would make one laugh. But not happening!
Longleat, with its big meadows and enclosures is also less conflicting. But zoos, they aren't all bad.0 -

That's not very patriotic, surely you should have been having a full Scottish!0 -

I like Haggis.
But I draw the line at having it for breakfast...;)“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Diet breakfast: One small slice of toast .... whole tin of tomatoes..... one egg scrambled and with nothing added to it. Looks like a big plateful at least.0

I ha e a weird thing about tomato and egg. I wouldn't eat that unless forced to by social convention as a guest. I can do grilled fresh tomatoes. Ketchup on eggs makes me want to hurl. I can hardly bear it when people do that.0 -

Oh yes.
The rate of weight loss slowed a bit towards the end of the first month but now seems back on track again.
I think the idea is to not let your body adapt too much, while still maintaining what is basically a healthy diet, but also to give you a psychological push towards craving healthier foods.
As I said, no way I'd have thought a small pot of low-fat yoghurt and granola was a treat 5 weeks ago..... Whereas now I'd take your arm off for it!!!“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

On holiday one summer we had an early start as we drove through the highlands to get to a beach. En route we stopped at a hotel for a full Scottish breakfast. It has become a byword for an inadequate meal in our house.
A thin slice of bacon, a sausage of the most processed kind a fried egg and half a slice of fried bread. We were anything but full.0
