I guess that's why he's dropped here to do the detox. Not a single drop anywhere to be seen here. No chance of temptation whatsoever. Also, no drinking style activities occurring, no such chat, and importantly, no judgement.
Sorry, meant heavy drinker. I do drink. I don"t drink at all three months of the year and barely drink the rest of the time now, Not even a glass of wine a weekend ATM.
I love some drinks though, and do not feel dependant in any way on them.0 -
I'm now having massive difficulty motivating myself to have a meal. Mate isn't going to eat (side effect of meds) so meal for one.
I always feel very uninspired/motivated to cook just for me. It feels too much effort/hassle just for me too. Opening cans just to have half, etc.
Quite likely to do a pastures & eat a bowl of rice pud!:)It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

I dunno, I'm sure it isn't for everyone or every situation. But despite being pretty skeptical, it did what it needed for me.
I'm not sure whether we have the same idea of counselling, but for me it was a forum to be able to talk through what had happened, and what could happen from then on. I didn't read the book on procrastination that was recommended to me (didn't get round to it:D - actually I never bothered to even look it up as I though it would be pointless), and I didn't go on a 'date' with my thesis (though I am almost tempted to do so now).
I also went to a kind of group therapy thing where we sat in a circle and shared tales of thesis woe - I went to a couple and didn't go to the rest. I really didn't get anything from that!0 -
I had a food fest today.... picked up a pack of 4 reduced pasties yesterday (best before 13th) .... had one last night with beans, so today I had a pasty/potatoes/beans. Also polished off the last 6 Jaffa cakes .... and 3 mini marathon bars (Lid;/treat size).
Only two more pasties to go .... might have to eat earlier tomorrow, so I can fit two in0 -

I've eaten three packets of hula hoops this evening. And today was supposed to be a fasting day so that was all 'above quota'.0 -

Baked eggs are good.
Is there anything in particular your chum could eat? My meds make a lot funny, but I have somethings that are fine. Other meds its just been a glass of milk, but usually something is better than nothing.0 -

It helped me too, with the whole situation with LNE's affair & leaving etc. I got it free, too, through church.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

If I'm cooking just for me, I often make scrambled eggs on toast. Nice, and also comfort food....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
LIR I'm not really great at offering advice (also do the man thing of trying to fix problems rather than listen and empathize) but I am thinking of you and care deeply.
I had a cheerful thing happen today. I have had fairly regular email correspondence with a young (ish now) lady over abut 10(?) years and shortly before xmas she told me never to contact her again as he had had a disagreement over what she should do with her life. Anyway I have spent the last few months not contacting her because she asked me not to but often wondering if that was what a true friend would do...and today she got back in touch. Which is goodI think....0
