That has to be a posh alert.... paying somebody to sit and listen to you.
    :) s.

I don't think it is, personally. It's medical, innit. Not different from going to the dentist.

Nah - it was free through Uni (limited number of sessions). I probably wouldn't have gone if I'd have had to pay. Was supporting myself +1 on a not immense wage in London. My first choice would have been some tablets, but the GP wasn't forthcoming (I guess they were ultimately right as the talking did what it needed to - got me to the point where I could jack the job and the ex in and run away). Considering I told them that I was concerned I would do something 'silly', I'm a bit surprised they let me just walk away though just because I'd mentioned I was thinking about counselling.

Sams - thats something different again. Their whole point is that they're a listening service, not counselling or advice. They won't intervene at all.

Did anyone else watch it? What did they think? I liked Denmark and Russia, plus one other that I didn't catch who but was a dance tune (not the astronauts). I also quite liked the Netherlands which was an unusual little song. Nothing really dreadful though. I'd like to see Moldova again just for the dress, looked like she was being burned at the stake at the end.

Can I add my tuppence worth? :o

I think I understand what you mean but sometimes 'rising to the challenge' is just a diversion. Mental health issues are like the layers of an onion. People can add several layers until the last layer proves too much. This is, apparently, why it's often the least likely people who eventually crack.

I'd try, if possible, to tackle some of the existing layers before taking on another.
You're creative & sometimes there are creative ways to get round things. Can you come up with a way to produce more hot water, keep the room you mainly live in warmer etc.

Above all laughter is a great release. Sometimes it's really hard to keep a sense of humour but, even if it's a struggle, try to find fun in something (if only for a few minutes) every day.
    Hugs

Sorry, viva, I didn't see it. I've been watching a lot of Lycra clad bottoms :D

hehe, a change is as good as a rest is probably the thing I am most likely to say at a weekend

and that's true. Weekends feel better, dh is here and we laugh a lot. A lot a lot. So I think everything is fine :o. (Short term memory :rotfl:). It's when things go wrong this sort of living apart together thing is hard, because if he were here I'd be totally fine. I have become too dependant on him.

LiR, I didn't really want to comment about the relationship stuff, since I don't really know you (outside this thread) but it seems to me FiR is just being a man. He wants you to be happy, because he loves you, and when he hears that you are unhappy he tries to offer you solutions to 'fix it' because that is what men are supposed to do for the people they love.

It's okay that you are unhappy right now. It's perfectly normal for someone faced with the things you are faced with to be unhappy. That will change too, given time, but at the moment you are unhappy.

    Baths...

LIR: are you thinking about going to see the bath you posted recently?
    How about here: http://www.bcdesigns.co.uk/ProductDetails.asp?Id=847?
They also do this one: http://www.bcdesigns.co.uk/ProductDetails.asp?Id=848 which is very similar, but I prefer (the other one is pretty, but reminds me of cauliflower leaves :o)

When you posted the bath previously, I had a fairly good Google for the leaf tap, but couldn't find anything even vaguely similar.

I prefer the simpler one too, but the more fussy one is on sale, its white on white, it cannot be too bad! But why it needs to be seen really.

But yes, And I need that tap and just cannot find it. It's me is rightfully cautioning me against to much faff, and splash and something that makes water full too slowly, which I can see, but I still love it. Even if I had it at a sink not the bath....

[I just feel sometimes I'd like to watch it and go...'stupid mean people, but its so very cute I can see why they do it' and then not feel really sad and cross with myself.

I had a similar moment yesterday. Someone mentioned going to the zoo, and before I could stop it I said 'oh, I love the zoo'. Then immediately thought 'I love looking at the different animals and running around like an over-excited child, but I feel really sad when the animals look under-stimulated and unhappy. I managed not to blurt that bit out thankfully. But I did spend the next 5 minutes (when I was supposed to be concentrating on something else) feeling bad that I'd said I liked the zoo.

Ah - is that the same site you found? (with a couple at 40% off).

I really liked the tap too. I managed to find some swans-head shaped ones, but no leaves.

Edit - they do leaf sinks too, though might be a bit much to have both :)
