Nice people thread part 8 - worth the wait

That Auction Hero is on BBC2 again right now. Bloke being interesting to raise charity funds, visiting posh auction houses and flogging old stuff to people with too much money who live in London.

He's now found a box of glass eyes ..... about 100 years old, somewhere abroad .... and he might buy them, then look for some teeth to build a collection to make them more appealing to his customers.

Yay hay, guess who's watching the Eurovision semis...

ETA: so far enjoyed Denmark and Russia. No really bad songs though, just some that are better than others. Ukraine next.

I'm posting from phone, so my speeling may not be great.

I'm glad that's over with; I prefer to be on early in the night, so you get on with it, then worry, as we are doing now.

I don't think there's been anything terrible yet, but some have definitely been better polished than others.

I am not watching. Not ruling out watching the final, but seriously, I am into preserving my mental health tonight.

That's really sweet. And was offset in the background while reading by rapping dub step Montenegran astronauts. If that's not perfect mood music for the bonkers loveliness that is the NPT, I don't know what is.

If anyone begrudged my venting last year, then they did a very good job of hiding it. I can't answer for anyone else, but I can understand why you might not be feeling joyous at the moment. I very much doubt I would be! That is one of the great things about the thread - lots of very Nice People, and no obligation for a response.

Before I left London I had a few sessions with a counsellor (not a Councillor ). I was quite skeptical and only went a) as I was feeling pretty rubbish and b) I thought it couldn't do any harm in terms of keeping my student registration. I found it really helpful talking things through with someone who didn't know me, was talking to me about it because they wanted to (/ had to as it was their job) etc. rather than ending up leaning on my work colleagues (pretty much daily).

Edit: that last bit was because I felt guilty burdening them, not because I'm suggesting you shouldn't 'bother' us or anyone else you already know.
I also kept going round in circles with my friends/ colleagues - they kept saying the same things, I kept saying the same things etc. etc. Was useful to get a fresh perspective/ pair of ears

He can wave, but at the moment he's sitting on a sofa in Herts (DH that is). He'll be there Friday.

ETA: watching Belarus now. Really reminds me of Kiss Kiss.
