For a long time I was reading it as GDP, as in sterling, as in some money connection to debating economics etcI'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Not my thing
Not a problem, we will all come to the seaside near you instead :TI think....0 -
Lir is your horse really going to be called ugly? I think I'd be upset if I was said animal. Can you call him/her something akin to ugly but that the horse doesn't know means ugly? For example whatever is Italian for monk fish. Spell checker on my kindle won't let me do fish name as one word. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Not my horse!
No, she has a name, dh has chosen a sweet name. But, tbh, it doesn't matter horses don't understand words just the meaning behind them, plus this one doesn't speak any english at all, recently arrived in uk. ( edit, he has been steered away from a name meaning 'beautiful' to a name version of 'nice temperament'......playing to her strengths.0 -
Well, sometime since I got I'll what, ten years ago, and now I seem to have had rubella, as I now have rubella antibodies in my blood.

Exmoor (including Lynton & Lynmouth) - Beautiful scenery & 680 miles of footpaths including the SW coastal path. Horse riding. Cliff railway. Boat rides. Small steam railways - full size but fairly short track at Woody Bay which was once part of the L&B railway + Exmoor Steam Railway near Bratton Fleming. Also in the BF area is Exmoor Zoo.
Ilfracombe town is a bit of a dump (sorry 'Combeites) but the quay area can be quite interesting. Damien Hurst (lives at Combe Martin) has his Verity statue (gross) there plus a restaurant. The MS Oldenburg sails from Ilfracombe & Bideford doing day trips to Lundy.
Watermouth Castle is a kids theme park with various attractions.
Moving round closer to Woolacombe there's all the sand & surf beaches. Croyde, Woolacombe, Saunton Sands (my preference).
Barnstaple - fairly ordinary town nowadays since it lost most of it's independent shops but worth a visit on a rainy day to see what's in the Pannier Market.
On the other side of the estuary there's Bideford, The Big Sheep, The Milky Way. the little fishing village of Appledore &, of course, Clovelly.
Your best bet is to tinker with this page from the local tourism site.

Feel free to ask if there's anything else you think I may be able to help with.
Pretty comprehensive there itsme!
Many thanks!:)
(runs off to find my walking boots...)It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

There's a fair few "french" phrases in english that mean nothing to the french.
Double entendre is one.
Encore is another (the french say bis I think).lostinrates wrote: »Lydia....no rush to respond, but did you get my email? . Not sure if hotmail is working at all you see.
The new hotmail gets more annoying every day, doesn't it?It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
You lot don't half rattle on!
Anyhows, I would attend the NP meet if time & distance allowed. Sadly, neither will I suspect.:(
In a busy period at work. problems with getting/taking holdiday leave is a big issue atm, & won't improve til july...
Hating decorating when the paint is rubbishly thin. Did 2 coats yesterday, & woke up this morning to see a 3rd coat needed.
I think I'm over tired. I'm aware I'm moody with friends at the mo.
I can see where silvercar is coming from re the meet up. FWIW I'm so forgetful, that I'd never remember anyones name anyway.
I did meet a person off another fora that I go on. We had a game of golf. There were supposed to be 3 of us, but 1 dropped out the day before. Still had a lovely day in the sun though, plus he was a decent fella!:)
The same fora has suggested a gold day this year, & it seems there will be 4 of us going.
Personally I see little harm in it. One guy going is someone I've crossed swords with a few times, & he can be quite blunt on occasion. However he's already said he refuses to talk politics on the day (what we usually clash on) so the olive branch has been offered! It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0
