Last time we arranged to meet up IRL, we decided it was better to make the actual arrangements more privately than the actual NPT. I suggest that when you get as far as setting a time and a date, you do it by PM, or even email. (Some of us know each other's email addresses.) I would certainly love to come if I can make it work, but an evening thing in London isn't the easiest thing for me to manage logistically because I would have to arrange a sleepover for my kids with somebody.

Haha, ok, I should have known someone would suggest it before me!0 -
I certainly feel a lot more confident about you finding the right house than about me finding the right bloke!
Well, I've racked my brain to come with some funny little 'mewbie-esque' comparison (this board is most definitely poorer for his absence) about houses being like blokes.... and failed miserably!
Obviously too early in the morning for it....
But I do hope you both find what you're looking for, and as an eternal optimist, I do sort of think that good things eventually find good people so hopefully the right house/bloke/whatever will be just around the corner for anyone.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

My thought was whether you could find a fireproof safe that would withstand the same temperatures as the diamonds.
Edit: It seems you might, as steel melts at around 1400C (depending on the particular type of steel).
Oops, Lydia got there first, even if the safe survives couldn't the contents still get too hot and burn?Nikkster, I remember when I was house hunting despairing of ever finding anything I liked that I could afford. But eventually I did. And so will you. I certainly feel a lot more confident about you finding the right house than about me finding the right bloke!
Now that is a provocative view....
Mr G is it just you coming over or all the Generalissimos?I think....0 -

Aww Hamish, your comment is lovely even if you couldn't think of anything witty. Thank you.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Can I suggest this goes to private communication like email?
Never heard of mewbie btw. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
Never heard of mewbie btw.
How is this possible?
Anyway, funniest poster on here by a long shot, although Cleaver would have come a close second at times.
Mewbie got PPR-ed, and cleaver just drifted away.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

The thing about these meet ups is that there is always te risk of an oddball. Most of the np I'd adore to spend a meal chatting with, meeting in person, but the oddball being there or having my email address is not comforting. Therefore I am hesitating to join any email group about this.
Of course, i could leave foundinrates at home0 -
If you fancy a curry at the Indian restaurant (discussed a few threads back) I'd be up for it. Ndg likes it and maybe some others would too. It'd be good to see some NPs in real life.
(I've met at least one NP in real life. I think he's met some others. You've all got the wit to PM him to check whether he thinks I'm Hannibal Lecter.)
I think this is one of the more "real" threads. Not offended if anyone decides either way.lostinrates wrote: »The thing about these meet ups is that there is always te risk of an oddball. I'm afraid you will all turn out to be totally different to how I imagine you to be and that you will decide I am odd/ boring/ not the person you thought you knew.
and I don't like curry.
BTW to everyone that has ever sent me their name through PM, the otherside or dropped hints, I have never heard of any of you. Felt awkward that the giving of a name should have a similar response by me, as you would in RL. But then the identification was by a choice I didn't want to make.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. These are Tahitian pearls, baroque, dark green with overtones of pale green, red, and silver:
I'll try to take some photos of akoyas and coin pearls tomorrow (you have to have natural daylight to photograph pearls).. I like the shape of the second ones too. I can see the second ones have more lustre than the first ones. I like the Tahitian pearls too, or maybe just the idea of them....I think the colours are incredible. Generally the coloured other than cream seem a bit odd to me, but those the beauty transcends the odd factor.
