Ooh - and speaking of men/ Mr. Wrong...
The friends I ate takeaway with on Friday were there on the night of the emailer. I bit the bullet and mentioned the episode to them, anticipating that I would be told something horrendous that I had done to encourage.
Instead (:)) I found out that after one of the couple of times I have met emailer previously, he had commented that he found me, er, attractive. The friend who told me this was shocked that he had actually made a 'move' though. But neither of them suggested that I had done anything encouraging. Phew!
You are attractive. But...his poor wife. Is she in the friendship group too?0 -

'My husband, my friend & I' or 'me, my husband & a friend'?
I tend to use the first &, consequently, sound like a Lillibet impressionistbut I have never really worked it out.
My other blind spot is when writing affect & effect. I always have to stop & think on that one & quite often will end up using a completely different sentence to get round it :rotfl:
My husband and I went to town: I went to town. So "I" is right.
My husband and me went to town: Me went to town. Clearly wrong, so not "me"0 -

My husband and me went to town: Me went to town. Clearly wrong, so not "me"I'm not quite as poorly educated as to say Me did anything. It's the ?, ? & I or ?, ? & me scenario. I can't ever recall it cropping up in Eng. Lang. when I was at school. We were taught to say "& I" but things seem to have changed across the years.
We were also taught to say "One does ......" but 90% of the time that gets a Posh Alert now:)

I do think it was the drink talking (or typing). And there is a LOT of 'banter' in the enviroment emailer and my friend knew each other in (hence why he would have mentioned anything to her as opposed to sounding her out for my number etc). Wife isn't in friendship group, but he talks about her (and family) all the time apparently (in a very genuine way), and often takes them all out. General impression was that it was a lapse of judgement (his part) rather than a habit. But my friends (who have met wife, and are likely to see again which I am not) now know what happened, and will be able to keep an eye if any other similar situations arise...lostinrates wrote: »You are attractive.0 -

Or, in parts of the southwest.

I still don't have photo bucket sorted, when I do I might stick a small straight haired me up.....most of face hidden.....it's really weird seeing me with straight hair!

Sadly, I don't have any round, high-quality Tahitian pearls to photograph - so I nicked a photo from Jupp Jewellery. The pearl is gorgeous, the setting is a bit silly, it includes a diamond, I think. That pendant is about £700.
I love pearls, but forgot to photograph the others today while it was light enough - sorry. I went to court instead, though!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Far more important to go to court than to post pictures of pearls for me.
Good day I hope?0
