Good luck to your son silvercar, both on the home and career fronts. Exciting times.

Having no idea what you do, this was totally above me.

    Are you running a brothel?

    Something like that, certainly.

Got to use your talents, you know :D

It has other benefits. He might bounce back later and for him spreading his wings now might be just the right thing. Huge congratulations to him, and to you!

Just realised I have a silly committee meeting and nothing clean to wear to it tomorrow night. Today half the village must have driven or cycled by while I was wearing a bum freezer tatty yellow sundress (its for gardening in) and a brown blanket, red sun glasses and a huge pink sunhat. If I haven't got a reputation as ' a bit dubious' I really should have.

Wear that tomorrow night. It clears up your doubt of what they might think/say - and - solves your "what to wear" problem.... all in one move.

I found a really nice looking walking stick I want from the states and dh won't buy it for me because its called a pimp stick. I don't really care if other people see it as that, I would think of it as something quite different. Only problem is I'd need more than one as its not height adjustable.

You could start a sideline business - whittling sticks into canes. You can do that sitting down .... and affix locally-sourced carved tops for them from artisan wood turners, metalsmiths and resin casters. And the chippy-bits/offcuts.... you can use for fuel or sell as garden mulch/weed stopper stuff :)
