Random Question: Logs beside a woodburner.

Just seen a house programme on the telly - and they'd opened up a fireplace and shoved a woodburner in the hole. On each side of the fire were 3 stacked logs. At least one log on each side of the fire was leaning against the log burner.

    Isn't that a fire risk?

I like all of mine, this one included. I don't take people on that I don't like. :). I have turned people away from day one. But liking them them and being either the best place for them or in this case, prepared to keep them, is not the same thing.

I thought logs in/near fireplaces were like twigs in vases, there for appearances and to add £££ to value. We have 3 logs that sit in the fireplace all Summer, they are not intended for burning.

    Exciting news, DS1 has a paid internship.:T

This year he has spent 3 months on an unpaid internship and then 3 months looking for work. A few interviews, one application went as far as him getting down to the last 2. Now this, as a result of a speculative application, he has a paid internship for 3 months that may lead to a job at the end of it.

    I am relieved and delighted.

Today we went work clothes shopping, which could be the last time that my credit card gets used on his clothes!

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
