Put up the reduced to £200 tv tonight.
Must be the day for it.
I spent most of the weekend unpacking boxes of stuff that had been in the attic for years, a lot of which went to the tip, but I found a few hundred CDs and a couple of boxes of books and had nowhere to put them.
So down to Argos for some wooden CD rack/bookshelf things, which of course came in flat pack form, with "some assembly required"....
Still only half way through putting the bl00dy things up.
On a brighter note however, the entire house is now wired for sound, using the old hifi systems we already had in most rooms anyway and a few apple airport express running off itunes from the mac in my office.
Absolutely, amazingly, brilliantly simple to set up, and can be individually controlled from any iphone or ipad in the house with a free app.
Thoroughly recommended for any NP that like music and already have apple stuff.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

If all else fails, read the instructions.........much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

When did this term internship start sneaking into the language? I'd not heard the word before 2-3 years ago, when chatting to one particular American online in my long-standing online chat group ....0

Genetically incapable of it.
Plus, I don't think it would help combat my mechanical illiteracy.
Not entirely sure it would feel any better to accidentally hammer your thumb into the right side of the shelf than the wrong side.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

More gender-related incapable, I'd have thought?
The "if all else fails, read the instructions" is something my mother reckons men always think....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Same difference.
There's a chromosome in there somewhere....;)The "if all else fails, read the instructions" is something my mother reckons men always think.
LOL
In my case, it's "when all else fails, ask your wife".“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

I approve of American spellings by and large. I suppose gen has to get used to them in Oz.
But I'll feel I'll be ready for the grave if people in Britain start talking about "A to Zee". One of the reasons I'd prefer Canada to Oz.:DThere is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
It's a bit like the birthday card my mother got me a couple of weeks ago. Features Daddy Bear and Baby Bear both looking into empty bowls and saying "who's eaten my porridge?"
And Mummy Bear saying, "for crying out loud, will you ever give me a chance to make it?"...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

There's a brilliant Simpsons "Treehouse of Horror" episode where bart finds the three bears cottage and finds the first porridge is too hot and the second one is too cold. He then says something like "you don't have to be a genius to solve this problem" and pours one into the other and then eats them both.:T
