In that case, at least do wills excluding guardianship?

DW and I have very very short wills leaving everything to each other. If we both die together, the intestacy provisions will kick in and it will all go to our children, BUT we really ought to tidy it up. Besides that I doubt that anyone but me knows where they are - the wills, not the children.

GDB, could you go back and remove the quote from this post, please? Because michaels said he'd be taking his post down and asked for it not to be quoted. Thanks.

I am now thinking about life insurance and wondering if I ought to get any. In the old days BA (before accident) I had a policy on LNE's lfe (which paid out when he died) and he had one on mine (which obviousceased to exist). So now I haven't got one. But then if I died, my kids would inherit all the money that I got from my policy on LNE and his death in service pension stuff, and then they'd get death in service payouts from my pension too. So I think that's probably enough. But I probably ought to think about it a bit more carefully.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I've been running out of food ... but haven't been bothered enough to go out and get some. Really digging deep now since I finished off the green/sprouting spuds 2 days ago, scoffed all the vacuum-packed part-bake baguettes I keep in, ate the last pack of 11p noodles ... and am now down to my last 100g of cheese and 2 eggs.

I'm guessing that unless I do something radical, like eat a tin of mushy peas on their own.... I might have to go and get some food in before the end of the weekend. Won't starve as there are things I COULD make with things in the cupboard, I just don't fancy them. And I do have about five 20p packs of veggie cup a soups if I am still lazy.

Experiment in the garden. Pansies from the garden centre were 24 for £10. I ran out so bought more from Tescos that were 20 for £3.

Garden centres ones were slightly bigger and have been in for a week; all doing well except for the white ones, that don't seem to grow.

Sadly fuscias seem to have been hit by the frost. I thought raised beds would keep them a few degrees warmer than ground frost.

It's pretty easy to laugh. When you think about it lying prone in bed bursting for a piddle is funny enough, more so when you realise that the pain, while 'real' is a machination' of the brain ( I mean physically, I don't imagine it sadly!). And not result of injury or something.

I am considerably more lucky than the hedgehog that was found in my brief absence...it was dying in the haybarn, and a client out it in a box with water and asked at the house for cat food then left it in the house with parent). It was barely alive when I got home and left us overnight. So lying in bed needed a pee with a sore leg is pretty low on the scale of tragedy.:o:D

We need to redo our wills. The existing one reflects that our DD would have been 'left' to my SiL.

Our other choice was that she would be in the care of our friends.

SiL choicereflected that DD would have had older cousins .

For those who have still to settle the care of their little ones...just do it.

mmm - can't beat delicious looking tart :)

Hopefully train has now reached and you have better things to do than admire the tart.

I don't like this time of year, it gets nice and sunny and everyone wants to go outside and I am a sniveling, sneezing wreck with sore eyes, throat, dripping sore red nose, itchy mouth, chesty cough etc. I was trying to lay off the anti-histamines this year as they make me fall asleep but it has been much too bad so instead I a tiny bit better and fighting against sleep all day :( I know I like to moan but it really is bad news.

Looking at another development property tomorrow but not sure how I would make it a 5 bed upstairs bathroom and ensuite without the extension being uneconomical, the obvious approach would need to have a bedroom window on the side with the planners tend to object to.

Lil bro wants to come in on the investment, he seemed to be able to contemplate chucking us a PN purchase amount of money to invest and still have enough to put down a 40% deposit on a Chewie style house!
    I think....

They've certainly not wasted their money on furniture, kitchens, wallpaper or curtains.

Making a scabbard is harder than you might think.

Isaac and I are making one. Leather's hard to sew, and my scabbard design skills aren't all they might be, either.
