It's ok, I got over the headache for something else earlier and later, all the better in a room with a fragrant carpet :o:D.

We've done a bit of a tidy up (we have an ongoing dehoarding thing going on and the only way to face it is a bit at a time). And now our room looks better and smells decent.

Tbh, never going to love the of blood red poly carpet, but of it smells more of lavender than wet cat then I hate it less. And the mint green cabinet we painted a few weeks ago looks fantastic with two pamplemousse pink candles burning infront of one of its mirrors. And dh has very sweet
Y offered me his slide of the bed for making a line of shoes along...

And I really think this might be the last week of flannel sheets.....we kicked of the duvets and slept under one light single summer quilt last night.

And here am I debating whether it is a hot water bottle night or not! I've decided it is :)

MY siblings are all annoyingly well adjusted and successful (perhaps we came from a not to hot not to cold upbringing, money was always tight and therefore valued but it was very middle class)

My siblings are, too, but I don't find it particularly annoying. I rather like them, all 3 of them!

DD was relatively well groomed and wearing clean clothes that looked like they were meant to go together. (Well groomed in our house means you have dried your hair with a hair dryer and brushed it). Weekend clothes for DD are usually unironed mismatched casual horsey, hair is tied up, mirrors are never looked in.

I am not sure if this was a potential date or just a friend...and I will have to wait and see what if anything she tells me. But I am interested.

Then I've never been well groomed in my life - I never use a hairdryer, they wreck my hair and make it dry and split and fly-away.

But as someone who tends to the casual in dress-code, I am 99% sure this isn't someone she sees as purely a friend.

  • Of all the exciting things a youngish married couple could be doing on a Saturday night, dh and I just cleaned our bedroom carpet.

I'd have felt my headache coming back all of a sudden, I think.

    I agree, to both parts.
I think the last time I used a hairdryer was about 2007. This also helps my low maintenance hair cutting schedule (about once a year. I think I had my hair cut twice last year which was quite unusual).
Sounds like either someone who is currently more than a friend, our someone who there are hopes for more than friendship. Looking forward to an update :)
Sorry to hear about the other stuff spirit. Its not really your situation to sort, but can completely see why you feel a responsibility. Hope things don't turn out as badly as you fear.

we have an ongoing dehoarding thing going on

It must be the time of year for that.

We've been chipping away at it for a few weeks now.

Now debating whether or not to bother listing loads of stuff on fleabay, or just give it to the charity shop.

Urgh, I have had a migraine that I just couldn't shift. Horrid.

I've been pumped up on Paracetamol since 6.30am, but there again, as I'm on Ciclosporin, I have no immune system anyway.

Methinks one of the kids has brought something into the office this week, and I've caught it! I have to be careful not to spread, too, as due to the nature of the young clients we're working with, it's probably something that isn't in the UK yet.

Why would anyone put the shower on and walk away? I may stand outside for 10 seconds while the water gets hot, but I would never switch the water on and leave the room. And I don't have a water meter.

I chuck the bath on most mornings, make a coffee and some toast, then go back upstairs and relax for half an hour (this is usually between 2.30 and 4am).

I'd never leave anything on for longer than it takes to boil the kettle/pop the toaster and , however, as I really don't want my house flooded!

I'm with you on this one, and funnily enough, in this weather, my car heater is on 'max' (it's after 31, so I assume it's 32). I've got a 40-50 minute drive into work, so that dries my hair nicely, gets brushed in the car outside the office, and gets tied back (for any NP that don't know, I'm male, but have long hair)

The only time I physically use a hairdrier is usually on (Junior) Eurovision week, when we really are pressed for time, especially as it's usually my room that contains all the bottled water etc etc etc, so there are people in/out early and late.

It's a hard one to call but if he won't listen and wants to go ahead then there is nothing you can do but be ready to help with any future fallout/problemns that come from this decision. The help would be for the kids though...how old are they?

We have been 'assisting' someone on OH's side of the family recently and 99% of the problems are from her own bad judgement/decisions/actions that she was advised about by all at the time. I am being very supportive and not judgemental :o in public but in my head, well, some of it winds me up a bit I confess.

    Today we have a 2nd room plastered.....yay(!).

Tomorrow we buy some tiles for the new bathroom downstairs.

Our lounge looks like the inside of someones garage (but bigger) and it's really getting me down now.

.....and the vendor of Margate called up to find out what we are going to do about his 'cash' as he doesn't want to pay his CGT.

OH doesn't want to get involved in any conversation with him about it at all (plus no way are we going to get involved in defrauding hmrc ) but it's difficult so he said the wrong thing; 'oh...um...I'll see what I can do'' ....doh.

Don't know what to say to him when he asks again without it scuppering the sale. What would the NP's do?

FC, cannot you and dh have a long 'business trip' necessitating the communication to be solely via the agent?
