Our old neighbours sued a builder, it costs them a couple of thousand in costs. They won at which point the builder went bust, claiming that the contract was with one of them and all the assets were held by the other's company. It became apparent that as soon as they worked out they would lose the case they re-arranged things to suit.

Ages ago I wrote a fairly random comment on a fairly random thread, something like "Sounds well dodgy to me, wouldn't waste my money, sounds like a pyramid scheme to me." Others agreed. Behind the scenes the not-a-pyramid scheme then got in touch with MSE and "explained" at great length why they are not a pyramid scheme; MSE accepted this, emphasising that they only have a small forum team to engage in this sort of communication, and have removed all mention of pyramids in connection with this not-a-pyramid scheme.

Just shows the bigger team wins.

No point searching for it as all mention has been removed. I couldn't even find it if I wanted to. MSE has asked me not to assert that this not-a-pyramid scheme is a pyramid scheme.

So if the scheme company are monitoring my posts  I won't mention you ever again. To be honest I've forgotten what you do. But I won't talk about you in any shape or form.

The main risk with playing the long game is that they win the case but at the expense of lir's already precarious health, which would be better served if she was living in a nice warm house with plenty of hot water.

I don't often say much about my own legal situation, because I'm not terribly sure how much I'm allowed to say, but I think it's OK to mention that there's a meeting happening next week at which they might just possibly set a date for the inquest. :)
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

Agree, we all need warm houses but lir more than most.

Hope the inquest will give you some sort of closure Lydia.

Don't worry. We are already looking into other options. :). We cannot act on them just yet but the money we can we will.

I will never give up books.

This is for trash reading mainly. Depression warding mind numbing, non exciting, stuff that kept me going the week special girl died. I went on a bad book bender.

I even read silvercar's recommendation of fifty shades. The sort of books I feel no urge to own I can stand digitally :). Also reading some of the free download classics, :D.

But any books I actually like that I read I have bought after reading in 'real' form.

lots and lots of free books in trashy format.:D I use it as my main reading now. It's surprising how quickly it felt normal.

Yep, getting some downloaded in prep for the vet coming for old girl. :o.

Fwiw, 50 shades was no where as near as dirty as I thought it would be. So I was disappointed both on the obvious literary point and the 'thrill factor'. I actually started to feel a bit sorry for the various reviews raving about the sex in it (rather than the idea of a rich would do anything for you man ) as if it were extraordinarily outstanding. Ok, so we don't all have 'play rooms' and not everything done is everyone's cup' o'tea but it was hardly that unbelievable.

A little something for Mr jelly. I'm loving archive.org and found this little out of print number to satisfy his JTR itch:

Hopefully can read it on his tablet and see what he thinks...

That's really handy trev, thanks. Sounds like I'm paying about £100 pa more than you to be all electric. Not too bad as I don't have the CORGI maintenance costs, though granted I don't have the flexibility of gas either. A useful comparison.

    I appreciate the comparison too.

Not happy though as I am horrified at the differential with our costs.
