Hi Calicocat, I still here trying to wade my way through the clutter. Though I do admit the heat and children being home isn't helping.

Youngest has grown so fast recently both in size and fashion sense and we seem to have more clothes coming in than going out. So I'm hoping to pack him off out with his mates for a couple of mornings so that I can raid all of the smaller stuff for charity bags. Some of it is fairly new so somebody out there will be getting a good bargain hopefully.

Hubbie and I have just agreed to completely clear all the cr*p out of the garden as soon as school restarts - including an old metal bed that is still lurking behind the shed ( long story - one of the boys wanted the metal originally for a project then promptly forgot about it), and countless bits of old bikes, scooters and skateboards that the boys no-longer use. Plus they are both getting new tents for their birthdays so the old ones are already hid in the shed ready for the tip. Roll on September when we will can get shot of it without them interfering (living with 3 hoarders is tiring).

Today I have packed off a college assignment and got shot of aload of paperwork lurking about the kitchen again. Sunday will clear my wardrobe of one of the boys birthday's pressies so I can finally get in there and ditch the rest of the junk.

Working now until Saturday lunchtime so no chance to bring more stuff in at least.

Have a good evening all x
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
    Fingers crossed x

Pile of paperwork dealt with and shredded.

Little things seem to be creeping in to the house without anything being chucked out to neutralise them.

Same here - have had a shredding and a filing session so it's looking better, but a bit cross with myself for letting it slip. Must drop some things off to the cs - been in the boot of my car for at least 2 months :o

    Keep on keeping on

:o I have just re-found the floor (again).

Been trying not to let things roost. Especially the dreaded paperwork.

Getting in the habit of picking up the mail as I come in, opening it/ filing or shredding. Takeout menus straight into the recycling bag. I quickly slit envelopes up for scratch pads to use at work, as I get thru a lot of paper, it all gets shredded at the end of the shift and it seems such a waste to use brand-new paper for such a purpose.

Folks coming up tomorrow which will mean that some of the stuff which is here will go there and hopefully not too much the other way around.

Finished a library book today and took it back to the library within the hour. Have a bad habit of taking too many books at a time (we're allowed 10) and then not getting around to reading them all and re-newing etc.

This isn't helpful for several reasons; clutter on my premises and denying other readers the chance of them. So I shall try to limit myself to two books at a time and return one before I take another out.

;) Well, I shall try, anyway.

Calicocat, if it's any help, you 'damp dust' laminate flooring, go over with a well rung out wet mop and if your in a hurry then go over it with a dry mop, if your not in a hurry then just leave to dry on it's own.hth

1 thing listed on freecycle, waiting for someone to pick up.

friend came over for a making evening last night, I am crocheting a rug for dd's room, out of old t-shirts and fabric I already have. The old t-shirts were already in the cs box so that wasn't really new dericharding, but the fabric is, I have a BIG problem buying fabric just because i love it, and then never committing it to a project because I don't want to waste the fabric! so that's a step forward.
It's a diameter of 1.5ft so far, want it to be 3ft, so am off into the loft to find more fabric!

found more fabric (obviously), wobbling a little, there's some I know I won't use for anything else so am using that first. but there's other cotton jersey that I like - and it seems very wasteful to cut up a good large piece of fabric which could be well used and then become rags, straight into "rags" for a rag-rug. and then there is the brushed cotton baby sheets. please tell me I am not going to sew these together for cosy sheets for winter - I haven't for the last 3 years.

    wobble wobble!

Use 'em in your rag rug. I'd love to see a picture of it completed.

Oh dear. Am a hoarder. Need sorting.

I have tried on previous occasions but got nowhere - clutter and clobber has followed me round the country

(why didn't I get rid of it before I moved??? - even paid storage for a couple of years )

Now it needs to go (yes, including the completely full garage which is furniture from an old holiday flat)

I would love to live a tidy minimalist life and reckon one way to get there is to add it all up on here ... keep me going when I slip back into chaotic ways and just add another book to the piles by the overfull bookcase....

Talking of books - I am going to start there.
