    Thanks whitewing :)

I wasn't as productive as I hoped today, but the plates, bowls and mugs cupboard is organised, and I cleared all the expired cereal boxes from the top of the fridge - it looks quite bare up there now! I was able to put my breadmaker up there (it was in the living room before...)

Plus I made home-made chicken nuggets for dinner! My son complained I overdid the spice (paprika and garlic powder) so he left them. I'm afraid I've let him get too used to freezer food. But I'm pleased that I actually made something - and that I had the space to do it and knew where everything was!

Plan for tomorrow is to deal with the food cupboards, and to decide what my limit is with expired food, one month over? The bins are packed so I'm going to have to bag it all up and store in the shed. I'm scared to let the momentum go!

    Howdie people,

Slept most of the day after night shift, but did do some more sorting in kitchen, more stuff thrown out, and all cleaning products given a cupboard. So kitchen looks quite organised and not cluttered at all now. Folded down the cats carrier/tent and put away, sorted out hundreds of plastic bags and put into one plastic bag. Did a load of washing (but still haven't put last washing pile away yet).

I have a mahoosive loft that is partly boarded out and has loads of shelves in it......a brilliant storing ground!!....so have decided not to put anything up there (as yet) or I will just bung things up there and forget about them. Instead need to get a joiner in to 'cupboard off' a storage space already existing in the dining room, this way I will have to keep on top of it as it will only store so much.

I was going to potter off to Asda now as need kitchen and bathroom bins....but have decided against this as would probably pick up loads of other junk I don't need, better to go during the day when i'll have less time to mooch about and there will be more people which will irritate and have me out of there as quick as possible.

I REALLY need to get a system sorted for all the paperwork/bills etc as it's starting to pile up again here....must hunt out some files tomorrow or Thursday. still got lots of boxes of books and nowhere to put them as yet, will look at that tomorrow too.......hope I wake up with the DO IT attitude.....i might have to make up some sort of 'do it' mantra or poem for myself.......after i've read the SLOB thread.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

Calicocat: no, don't put stuff in the roof space. We found a pile of home decorating magazines from 1967 in someone's loft. They'd gone up there when the bungalow was built and moved when the loft was boarded. Ideally, at that point, they'd have been chucked but they're still there.

gentleorange: awesome job on that kitchen :D

Didn't quite get to mums with car boot hoard, may do that later but it depends on what time the tech guy comes to fix scanning equipp on tv. He is coming between 1 and 6.

However, the pile has grown more and we will have to do dd2 cupboard as he will move it and I can see me looking might embarrassed by what she has stuffed behind it! LOL.

Just rung tax credits so another job ticked off. Took me ages to get thru and then including wait time I was on phone for one hour and ten mins. No wonder I have a warm ear!

ooh, I know. As soon as I can get over there, they're going. Getting permission from the owner may be the difficult bit. :(

I have some tins that date back to 2010. I'm afraid to open them for recycling in case they explode in my face. The local flies are loving what I have thrown out though. I tried to empty an old carton of almond milk and it just fizzed, but nothing poured out. I need a hot bath after this.

I have thrown out the contents of one small cupboard, no wonder I never feel there is anything in to eat. I'm tempted to google for lists of everything that should be kept in food cupboards and then order a shop, would that count as repeat hoarding? I am intending to cook more.

if I were you, I'd look at what I'd got, meal plan for a week and get the stuff in that you need for that, then do another one and ditto, and build up stocks of things you do cook with.

I do have a well stocked larder, but it's now (after much trial and error and things repeatedly going off), only stocked with things I use, not what other people might use.

as an update, deadline for job has been extended by a week, (which is much better), because it's changed from a permanent to 2 year position, (not better) I have secured referrees and spoken to current boss who is offering me a secondment/sabbatical if I get it, so will have a safety net if it doesn't extend beyond 2 years, so full steam ahead now!
