DS and I are going to burn his art book as he is going to start GCSEs next year. no more art -ever :j:j:jI wanna be in the room where it happens0
-
Oh yes, the half done art projects are all chucked.
After the earlier effort I found his schoolbag. Huge amount of rubbish in there and the bag is broken too so that will be chucked.
Have packaged up 17 schoolbooks for returning to school. His room wasn't that messy so I don't know where they all were hiding but most are from previous school years so haven't been used at all in the last 12 months.
DH is annoying me slightly as he is pottering around being busy and doing what he feels like instead of what actually needs to be done.
However, it is very hot here and I've got a touch of the shivers so I may be taking out my poorliness on him. (Not that he is in here to know that I am annoyed with him).:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. I've definitely got the decluttering bug this week. I've just emptied my bureau which is parked in OH's study. Results: 4 bags of recycling/rubbish, 1 small bag of paperwork to review and either keep or shred because it's financial, and one rather smug empty bureau!
I'm allowing myself a half hour break on here, then it's on to the second door of the triple wardrobe. Two bin bags of clothes recycling came out of door one (sure there's a games show to be had here somewhere!) and I've already emptied the drawers behind door three, so I *may* have an empty triple wardrobe and a full car to take to recycling by the end of the day. :cool:0 -
Why can I not just fling it all in the bin? Would anyone even notice?LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

Good Morning
Some progress made here - despite the heat! My bedroom has been 'turned round' and henried ready for a furniture delivery today (allegedly). There's a CoD for my room, and a CoD + wardrobe for DS's room - and with this influx of STORAGE we'll be able to dispense with floordrobes :T:j . We used to live in a one bedroom flat with no room for bedroom furniture other than beds, then moved to this house and 'managed' ' with an airing cupboard + ottoman. Then the airing cupboard went when a combi boiler was installed so it's been ottoman and floor.... but not any more after today (allegedly). I'm quite excited. And henry swallowed all the HUGE dust bunnies that were hiding behind the bed....think they had mutated into dust were-rabbits  .
Progress also made sorting through my stuff hoarded at mum and dad's. Gone to skip: soft bodied pram/carrycot (no wheels); bouncy chair; car seat; (DS is 20); kitchen blind with water damage; toy trailer. :T Other stuff brought home to be sorted at leisure.
EPIPHANY: whilst going through stuff, enlisted DS and his dad to help with the carrying - DS kept asking 'What are you going to do with that?' accusingly - as in 'you are not going to throw it out are you?' cue Puss in Boots eyes!!!! And his dad kept saying 'you don't have to decide now, I'll store it for you' AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH. NO..... you said you'd do a skip run for me, do one'. My mother was backing him up; and my dad was laughing 'cause I was the one saying 'No it can go' and looking wild-eyed at these people who CRITICIZE ME for hoarding :rotfl:
Oh, and we found my Panda- who is as old as me and went everywhere with us when I was little. He's staying!
Keep Cool if you can

We were supposed to be going to the seaside today but DH has fully fledged shivers and tummy bug and muscle ache and sore throat.
I could have a productive day if only I could get over the resentment of our rare whole day off being spoilt.
It is breezier here today so should be easier to do things, while still enjoying the sunshine.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Forced myself to put away two loads of dry washing. It took almost exactly half the time to do this as I spent thinking about starting it.
Wet load is on the line.
Flylady says one of the best ways to keep the house in order is to pick up after yourself - that is so true, why has it taken me nearly 40 years to learn it.
Am about to start Nick Hornby's "How to be Good" Book. So a pleasant skive for an hour or so.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
2 and a half bags to cs. have emptied pit of a car, ready to be cleaned and packed with camping gear tomorrow (why do I only clear stuff out when I know it's going to be trashed with more stuff - surely this is the wrong way round?)
but looking forward to holiday:AA/give up smoking (done)0
