Is there anyway you would consider just buying one and sorting it yourself, or is all money joint? What's the worse that can happen?
I would suggest trying for one from freecycle but you'd need his help in collecting that.
Or maybe lookout on ebay for a local seller of one of those arg*s canvas wardrobes that would be easy for you to collect and mantle on your own?I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Thanks Gingernutty, it didn't occur to me to try poundland for the sugar soap! I haven't used it in years, since I was preparing DD's bedroom before she was born.
Catriona, what doesn't your husband like about wardrobes? Much nicer than a rail! Saying that we have a couple of rails ourselves that OH put up in the alcove which is better than nothing but it does make me feel like I'm sleeping in Debenhams menswear department!
Things have to get worse before they can get better, we have some clear areas and other areas that we've temporarily had to move things to; we also have a table which is up on ebay/vivastreet/gumtree/facebook etc and so is currently residing in the lounge until it sells as we've decluttered and rearranged the area that it was in so it can't live there.0 -

We keep our money seperate but I can't really afford a new wardrobe (the rest of our bedroom furniture is quite distinctive looking so something really needs to match it). I do keep an eye on freecycle but we have a very small car so picking one up is practically impossible. I have suggested a canvas one but he doesn't like them
This Year, it's not that he doesn't like wardrobes, he just doesn't see the purchase of one to be a 'priority', or something. DD has her own wardrobe which I share with her, so there is at least one in the house.
Dining table buyer should be coming sometime today so I've been busy cleaning the room and giving the table one last go-over. Trying to clean the rest of the house as my Mum is coming today for a few days, but feeling quite tired and want a nap!
Have a good day everyone"Why, this is hell, nor am I out of it."0 -

A canvas one can be got pretty cheaply on ebay if you keep your eye out. This would be one less angsty feeling about your home until you can afford what you want.
Sometimes it's ok to prioritise your needs.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
New kitchen unit here... OH ice skating with Squeak this afternoon so I might be naughty and build it myself for when he gets back
Kitchen mopped and units wiped which always makes it look better. I need to ring the builder about the ceiling though... might do that now while I remember actually.

Is thast the best use of your time? Ring the builder and then you'll have a bit of time to sort things while you're alone. Then you can build the unit together when they get back.
Sometimes I leave things for OH to do. Not because I cant do it - but because it seems to boost the male ego to assemble things! :rotfl:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:wave:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX0 -
Would a room divider http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=room+divider
with the rail behind it, be a cheaper temporary alternative?:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -

Whitewing, that's another thing that my covetous mind has now decided that it's always wanted since like forever, and can't live without!
Luckily I have said no, and sent it to the naughty step. :rotfl:
Pudsey, if I left things to the OH to do, they take 2 years minimum.
The 4 decorative fish for my downstairs loo that he bought 5 years ago were allegedly going up yesterday. They're still on the side. I've possibly even changed my mind about the theme for that room now!0 -

Have to admit it took him a year to complete our bathroom.....(which is why I insisted on workmen fitting the kitchen)He's pretty good though if he thinks I'll do it if he leave it!!
