:) Well done on the car boot sale, nearly rich.

I've been pootling about at home today and have three-quarters of the curtain project done (one hanging and one needing some more sewing). It's looking good plus I am loving being able to get at the sofa again.

Finished a paperback I bought for 50p on Easter Monday and immediately put it in the donation bag, have also been to the library and returned some books, but came away with an equal amount and have finished one of the mini deodorants (only two left to go) and am working my way thru the other mini toiletries. It's not much per space gained, but they are muddle-y things to have around the place and it's good to finish them up and get them into the recycling.

Keep moving it on out, my lovelies.

well, i have done naf all, all day.
well at home any way, was my friends kids birthday party and if got invited, spent over 2 hours doing an hour an 20min drive, because i got lost as usual. and ended up having to pull over, in a very awkward place to get over a slight panic attack.
but at least i eventually got there, my directions took me up (and theres no other way to describe it) a death slide, there is no way was that a hill. i knew there was a reason i prefered to be out in the sticks lol.

i did at least try and be productive tho, i went to the shop to get some paint on my way past, after i said we owuld need 3 pots of paint, hubby decided 2 would be plenty, only for us to use the 2 pots, and then he agrees we needed the 3rd, (told you) but unfortunately due to the bank holiday they hadnt been able to get any more in and wont have any till thursday. so i guess im just going to have to get on with the glossing work till then, and hubby has said hed rather wait till thursday to go look at carpets, but i get the feeling when thursday comes round he wont feel like it, as he only gets the one day off a week, and likes to laze around.

doesnt look like im gonna get thing tonight, feel like i will be asleep soon, so maybe, and would be the first one in a dont know how long, i am going to get an early night. vant remember the last time i was in bed before 11, then again dont think i can rememebr the last time i was asleep before 4 am lol.

i think im going to finish my cuppa and then try and get some sleep, hopefully i will sleep better tonight.
    night all

Got a tin down from my tinned fruit 'stash' yesterday & it had a sticky bottom so got on a stool to see what had happened - yes a can of pineapple had 'blown'. Got all the tins down & cleaned up the shelf. Checked the use by dates :eek::eek: so opened up the oldest & mixed with a couple of jellies. Result! not much wasted - shelf cleared out & puddings for a couple of days :T

    :) Good thrifting there.

The only can I've ever discovered 'blown' was a tin of fruit. Opened it up in my Mum's kitchen and it made a 'whumf' noise as the can-opener pierced the lid and the sides sucked inwards sharply. We slung the contents on the compost heap.....

Am feeling a quiet sense of satisfaction as am putting the finishing touched to a mending job which will mean that something which has been floating around the sitting room for weeks if not months is now outta here and that two garments are back in service. Just gotta sew the loose ends down and bob's yer uncle.

Shamefully am still in my jammies although have been up since before 7 am and will get sorted soon, have a light luncheon then dive up to the lottie between showers. Weather's very unstable so don't know if I'll get much gardening done, but at least I'll have taken the rotables to the compost dalek, checked on stuff up there and will swing by a supermarket on the way home.

    :o I am enjoying a lazy Sunday before a full-on work-week......

I've got the 'chores' done. Also made a pineapple upside down cake. I will give that to my relative who took a load of furniture away for me yesterday.

We also had a cull of balls. Balls as in footballs, tennis balls, rugby balls, balls with cartoons on, balls with glitter etc. We've still kept plenty to use but fished the rest out of their hiding places and they are gone. Surprising the space they take up.

I am going to do a meal plan for the week. DH enjoys his time in the kitchen of an evening, but I want to make pies or quiches or whatever so that there is a small stock to take the pressure off him on the days when life gets in the way and he just wants to stick something in the oven. Home baking is much easier with a decluttered house.

Found some stuff in a cupboard that DH should have taken to aunty. When he feels overwhelmed with his To Do list and doesn't want to be nagged, he sticks things in the cupboard above the hob which I can't reach so easily and never need to go in. So it's now by the back door (again) and I won't comment. (Finally learning to hold my tongue, but it has taken years of marriage!)

I am off to sort of my food cupboards, and maybe make some jam tars as I have strawberry jam opened and I don't find it keeps so well.

Just cleaned all the downstairs windows, pegged out a load of washing, binned a pile of papers/magazines & leaflets. Emptied a carrier bag of re-cycleable stuff. Just off to the CS to drop off a big bag of books & clothes. Clear the way - woman on a mission!!!

    Can't last ;)

  • Found this thread and thinking I should be joining. Just got to work up the courage to admit the disgustingness of my house.

What's it called on FlyLady - Living in CHAOS: 'Can't Have Anyone Over to Stay'.

So difficult to get rid of things when you don't own a car.

  • Thanks.

I've managed to wean myself off buying books for years now, but its just stuff. Mainly paperwork, that you can't just throw, you have to look at first (and shred).

I'm just so exhausted when I get home, I collapse into a heap and pretend the mess isn't there - or wish the housework fairy was going to come and wave her magic wand :)
