    Hello everyone

Need to read back a fair bit, but, as the sun's shining and I'm finally starting to feel a bit better in my head, I'm doing work at last in my oh-so-messy home. DH got me loads of really strong plastic boxes with lids, fairly tough ones that will bear some weight and the littlies and I have started filling some with toys to store in the garage. They do play with them, but we've too many to have in the house so out they go for now. We'll have more space in the house, and I'll use it as an opportunity to sneakily go through them to CS some stuff and reduce the number of boxes! :D *What a naughty mummy!* :rotfl:

I also have a growing pile of clothes to CS - tomorrow's job when I put them in a bag and in the car boot after tea.

I have to do these things when I feel good, or else I just slide back in so many ways, but I really think this spring is "my time" to get to grips with all sorts of things, from my head to the house!! :rotfl: If the sunshine stays for a few more days, I'm confident I'll shift more carp and get some cleaning done, but I'm doing it at a pace I can sustain.

Sorry to waffle - I'm just so pleased I've done something today!

    A xo

Hugs Idris, how horrible. One present that I bought that went down well was a small pamper shower set for the mum, it was really just some nice shower gel, body lotion, etc. The mum in question had nearly died following her C-Section from blood loss. She couldn't bath either, which she loved, and she really appreciated having some nice shower stuff. (Apparently I was the only one who'd thought about her in all of the baby excitement, everyone else just got things for the baby). I also bought something like a blanket that the mum could wear to get her scent on it, but I can't seem to find a link to what I mean, sorry.

For my late sister I made up two baskets, one with baby lotion etc (from Safeway as was!) and another with bath stuff for her (Boots Naturals), but as people say the main thing could be taking around a casserole every couple of days, offering to push the vacuum round, just something to make her life easier!
Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup :D

Managed to get washing on the line yesterday. It's such a lift to be able to dry clothes outside. I was really good and spent half an hour folding it up and putting it away, stacking the dishwasher and cleaning the kitchen surfaces before I went to bed. (Bed isn't made yet though so I am far from perfect).

Threw out 7 pairs of tights, and 2 old roll on deodorant bottles yesterday. Once that would have been a project - Sort Tights Drawer. Now it is just a spontaneous task.

Now, if you're on this thread, you're taking steps already, so I haven't posted this to alarm anyway. Feel free to ignore it, if it isn't the right time for you to read it.

I'm considering trying to get a washing on the line today although I've not made a move yet to do one

I hung up bits of washing on the horse that there hadn't been space for till some stuff had dried

Need to do something or the day will disappear away from me!

WW what's interesting about that story is not the story in itself but the comments!!!

She is very stoic and the consultant is Positive that they will be able to remove it via an op- one or maybe a few to get it all.

I am however annoyed today. We both (DH &I) have the week off cos it's Easter holidays and he's gone down with flu. Now I know it's not his fault - he feels awful bless him- but it's irritating! So after feeling a bit sorry for myself I have decided to crack on with the de richarding and eBay listing.
I am having a clothes swap party tomorrow night so need to sort out what's ebay worthy, what's clothes swappy and what to take to cs.
I also have a load of college work to do that I'm still procrastinating on....

I've got sore tonsils and feeling all floppy today, so have taken the day off work as I am up to date there.
Just gently cleared my 'in tray' that sits on the table by my chair in the sitting room and filed or chucked most of the contents. It's a system that works for me - while I aim to deal with correspondence as soon as it comes in, there is stuff that I can't so it piles up there in a contained way, but does eventually overspill.
I have tackled it using the 'one piece of paper at a time' method, knowing I could stop when ever I wanted and that each piece of paper I dealt with would make a difference.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

I've been sitting in my comfy chair sorting through another pile of random paperwork - 90% of which is now obsolete and has been binned.
I need to work on seeing the obsolete (as in, you're never going to do anything with this so cut out the middle man (aka clutter stacking) the moment it comes into the house!

Just want to shout out a big Thanks to you all. Because I dipped back into this thread this week, and you're all still here being lovely. On account of which, since Monday I've
    • Almost finished chopping back the hedge in the back garden
    • done 1 tip run, have loads to take tomorrow when the tip is open again
    • Sorted the Paperwork mountain that I stored away over Christmas and added to again in March when I had house guests.
    • I'm just converting the last of my cassettes to MP3s. (I think Hubby has some tucked away somewhere too though.)

The house is clean and tidy but there are drawers and cupboards full of things that need de-cluttering and the garden and outbuildings are a mess. So they are the next things to tackle, one room at a time in the house as we decorate our way through. 2.5 rooms done and lots more to do. I say .5 because we decorated the bathroom to stop it being so depressing, but we need to put a new suite in and rip out the old airing cupboard, so that will all have to be re-done.

I hope to pop by more often as I get further stuck in.

Oh and Hubby started talking about doing a carboot sale and having a big clearout as the weather gets warmer, so we've snared another one :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Forgot, I've caught up with all the washing too!! I'm now in a position of 1 wash, 1 load of ironing a day, which is lovely and manageable, long may it continue.

Dehoarding by proxy, bobble_hat, I love it.

I have organised-work-piles today and am panicking a bit that I won't get it all done by the end of tomorrow so then I will have to dismantle the piles to do other stuff and then start all over again. I need some 'chip, chip, chip' motivation.

I know logically that we are doing really well for us. House is pretty tidy, had a visitor today and - I have just realised! - did not do any additional housework for his visit. Still reading flylady more than doing it. My DS is laughing as I explained that american flylady realised that lots of people hate housework because they did chores as punishment as a child, so she talks about blessing your house instead of cleaning it. My DS now blesses me with coffee, and blesses the bed. He finds it highly amusing. Guess his house will be a pit when he moves out because he will laugh every time he gets the vacuum out!
