Had a really long lie in today. I have the dishwasher on and the hand washing up done & kitchen tidy.
Mr F has gone off to walk dog and hand deliver a hand crafted Birthday card.

    Plan of action -

    1. tidy bedroom DONE
    2. sweep through downstairs. DONE
    3. finish sewing spare chair seat pad covers.
    4. start making swivel chair covers + 2 spare sets.
    5. empty dishwasher + dry up. DONE
    6. I need to get 2 coats of tissue paper on a paper mache mask for DGD.
Think I will stick there - enough to do.
    Report back tonight.

Hooray, recycling is just going out.

Dishwasher went on this morning but I haven't unpacked it yet.

I am having very vivid dreams at night at the moment. I was dreaming that DH was being attacked in our house and I was leaning out of the window trying to shout for help from people in the streets but very little sound was coming out of my mouth.

I woke up to husband stroking me saying, it's all right, I'm here.

I couldn't force myself to do anything after work last night. I probably won't do much today either.

I am thankful for the dehoarding thread for keeping us inspired.

    Can't wait until the Spring.

    ooh WHitewing, how horrid

I have very vivid and bizarre dreams.

I see someone has decluttered my ironing board smilie - :o, must have broken a rule somewhere. Hey ho!

Any way, today I have decluttered something that many parents will identify with - a pot full of birthday cake candles and various holders. Some complete with manky dregs of birthday cakes :o The kids are rather old for that anyway, and it isn't as if they aren't cheap. We had a man in to replace our electric meter and the stuff I had to clear so he could get into the mains switch :o so the candles were my token "get rid of"

I like to get rid of three things a day - I feel that is "doable", now does a tub of candles count for one thing - or 25:rotfl: I also got rid of a candle in a glass, which has been virtually burned away now. What is the point of candles in glasses? It's a waste of a glass if you ask me...
I wanna be in the room where it happens

I take the candles out of the glasses and either recycle, or if they are a tumbler size, use them as everyday tumblers. I don't get through enough candles to be swamped by them, but if I did, I'd offer them on freegle. Old glasses seem to be popular.
  • Thanks VJsmum. I have a jar full of birthday candles and bits of ribbon to put around cakes that needs chucking out. I was just waiting until I got some new candles but then I never do because I've got some ...

Saw some of our stuff in 0xfam today. If they manage to sell it, they'll have made about £40, which is fantastic all ways round.

Keep going. We really ought to take before and after photos, not necessarily for public consumption, just to remind ourselves what we are doing.

normal housework today, which wasn't too much of a chore as there is less stuff to shuffle, and I'd started to get ahead of myself with the washing during the week.

dd has identified 3 dolls to go to charity and one to throw (it's lost it's legs!), and I've thrown a sock, a broken hanger (it broke in my hands and I initially spent some time trying to wrestle it back into the wardrobe before the lightbulb went off!), some fabric scraps (this is huge for me), recycled a load of paper from the calendar pockets and some cardboard boxes, put a few things in the cs bag and made ds a cushion cover I've had the fabric out for a week to do, but not got round to.

I've rehydrated some vacuum packed soil (I know, I wasn't convinced either, but it was in the pound shop and I've run out of compost, based on coconut coir apparently) to plant the bulbs in the freebie pots tomorrow.

the children have friend over so have been watching films/playing, so I have had some time. Tomorrow is going to be a finishing off bits and pieces and craft projects day as a treat to myself.

hope everyone is safe and well and can feel the progress.

Just seen this thread and feel the need to actually motivate myself to actually declutter the place. Count me in.

    Morning x
I'm adjusting to the amount of floor visible in the living room and I'm liking it now :D. Can't wait for DS's dad to call for coffee this morning - I think I might get a 'wow!' :T
I carried on yesterday: just plodding away one item at a time - putting things away /out/ or in the cs bag. Then last night I started sorting through a carrier bag of papers. Instead of feeling overwhelmed by the very thought of going through so much 'stuff' I adopted the same 'one piece of paper at a time' approach - keep/recycle/shred/bin? The 'keeps' are being put in some sort of order and will be filed - I have a couple of files, may need more - and I've got the shredder set up and plugged in so I can shred as I go.
WM is on washing a new bath sheet and a new tea towel that I 'discovered' yesterday :o. Once they're dry they can go where they belong and actually be used :T
Thankyou for all the support and encouragement.xx
Hope everyone has a productive/relaxing Sunday - depending on what you are planning.
    Rxx

I'm washing bed clothes today, and the dishwasher is on.

I'm going to finish up one of the craft projects, and get that put aside for a birthday.

We dragged out our mattress to the living room yesterday and watched Peggy Sue Got Married. I'd heard of it and not seen it before. It was very good. And it was lovely to snuggle up with DH. Life has been getting in the way of being affectionate lately.

Welcome frugalsod, we look forward to reading your thoughts and achievements (even the tiny ones).
