I do believe in karma, noelphobic, so I do believe that the voluntary work will benefit you in the long run.
I am having one of those days that you just have to get through. The flesh is weak and the spirit ain't that willing either.
I think I will feel better tomorrow when work is over. Work itself isn't that bad, neither is home, - it's just all the other b*ggers. Need some relax time.ks
Dehoarded the big cardboard box this morning. I think we'll be pleasantly surprised when we get home from work. We were busy tidying before we left and didn't actually look at the house properly before we left, just focused on individual tasks. Can't wait until we can start drying clothes on the line again.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -

After my last post I got a phone call with some feedback about my application. Apparently it was very strong but it could have been improved on. I was in the top ten of applications but they only interviewed 4 or 5 people. Annoyingly, a couple of the things that I was told could have been put on the application were things I'd considered doing but decided against. I've asked for it to be put in an email.
I've seen another job that I'm considering applying for. It's for a mental health charity and is for 6 months to cover maternity leave. It's 37.5 hours, which is more than I really want to do, but I could cope with it for 6 months and it should help me to get a job either with them or elsewhere.3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -
We still have a tidy hall - determined to keep it that way. Mr F tends to put things down - meaning to move them later but doesn't so I am on his case! There is a bookcase in the hall - only piece of furniture there - he does tend to plonk stuff on top - I keep my beady eye on it.
Mr F did loads of shredding paperwork yesterday so the recycling bin was full - emptied this morning. Must make sure that he fills it again - loads of unwanted paperwork in his office.
I am working - slowly through my fabric stash - making things for the house as part of the renovation project.
Must get Mr F back up in the loft - forgot to put a bag of Christmas wrapping paper up there.
The garage has become a bit untidy/dumping ground so as soon as the weather warms up - need to empty it out and sort.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

LMAO, an ironing smilie, whodathunkit? Do you like this one?
I got straight on with the dreaded housework after coming home and shoved the vac around and dragged out the cooker. Semi-fossilised cooked sprout retrieved plus the cap off a plastic bottle - didn't recall until I saw it that it went down there a couple of weeks ago. Now binned.
I have decreased the household by returning the rental DVD and increased it by one second-hand paperback. Which is a title not in the library anywhere in the county, despite two of the five-part series being there. I shall read it and think about donating it to the library service to spare the fellow citizenry the frustration of having an incomplete series.
Kitchen floor has been washed, I have dusted the lampshades with a damp microfibre cloth and also went mad and ran it across the top of a couple of mirror frames and all the door frames. Darlings, I'mat how badly that needed to be done.
Have put a few paperish things away and the place isn't looking too bad, although I've done laundry and have had to get the airer out again, it'd only been away for about 24 hours. The joys of flat-dwelling.
Going to do beggar all but read, clear up and wash dishes for the remainder of the evening. Plenty of time to do chores tomorrow.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

:hello: Helloooo
I've maintained the momentum throughout the week again doing a little bit every day - sometimes a big bit if the moment seizes me- and I can see quite a difference chez Roundtuit :T. Although I'll be the first to admit that there is a loooooooong way to go yet- we do have floor in the living room as well as the kitchen now
. We also still have a lot of clutter
but I can't do it all in a day (I keep reminding myself).
I had an unexpected 'moment' yesterday: having cleared quite a large area of floor on Thursday night I came into the living room yesterday morning and thought ' wow that's a lot of space - I don't like it!!!' And I actually wanted to fill it againIt made me feel really uncomfortable having this 'hole'. Obviously all my 'stuff' has been serving an unconscious purpose - but usually when I clear a space I love it and keep looking at it and smiling. I guess at some point 'something' is going to have to be dealt with - but I don't know what. Heyho.
Anyway I join you today with things underway (poetry) WM has just finished first load - all these clothes aren't mine by the way - I keep finding and unpacking bags that DS brought back from Uni in the summer
- that child has far too many clothes - he'll come home and pounce on an item saying 'I wondered where that was. Thanks Mum'..... he's grown up with me, he's used to it.:o. I also have a draining board full of pots washed this morning and waiting to be dried; birds are fed and rubbish/recycling is out. Go me :T pretty amazing for 9.30 on a weekend day.
That's another thing I've noticed - I have more energy. DS's dad has noticed this too. I reckon it's a feng shuj side-effect to creating space and moving stuff - releasing energy and flow etc. I recommend it.
It's not really dehoarding - but I'm going to unload WM and dry those pots before I doing anything else....whilst listening to a long-forgotten CD which I unearthed during the week ....anyone going to join me singing 'I'm gona leave old Durham Town'?
Am a bit Tiggerish today - sorry

Morning all
First of all I have to say that i have had the worst few weeks in long time. Illness in family etc etc. I am exhausted depressed and the mess is getting to me. Feeling overwhelmed and out of control with life.
I have had a reasonable nights sleep and I hope to get something done today. Will pop back later and update what it is I get done.
Thanks for all the good tips and what you have all achieved so far this year.0 -
Sweetpea, sending hugs. Hope today is a little productive and the bits you achieve help you feel better. Life often gets in the way of things you need to do - as I well know
I actually cleared the draining board before I went to bed last night and boy did that make a difference this morning. Wont get much done as its Dgs's day to be here but will try and keep up the tidybits.
Roundtuit you have come a long way, celebrate a little you deserve it.
Hope everyone is looking foward to the weekend xxxClearing the junk to travel light

I will get my caravan0 -
Roundtuit - Well done on the clearing and and can I please have some of that energy.
Very little has been done here, work has taken over and I've been especially lazy in the evenings. I'm too good at ignoring it all, however within the hour a very good friend is coming over so I have to get off here, get dressed, get dinner on and get tidy downstairs (which thankfully isn't as bad as upstairs.) Need to find the dining table, sure its under the mountain of papers. OH is helping.
Oh and one very good thing to report a job has been tackled this morn that has been giving me sleepless nights for weeks, a letter written and a parcel sent. Hopefully that will declutter some of the pain in my head.WL 11 st 5lb as at 050109. 160209 11st 2lb
