morning all
I like the de-cluttering of grey hair
Out yesterday---- donated about 10 items of clothing.
Today I hope to list some more items on ebay to bring the coffers in.
I am now banning myself from charity shops until the end of the month. I do collect old linen and I now have it in a large red tub bought last week from Poundstretcher £7.99. Used a voucher that I had and bought 3 new oven trays, badly needed.
Keep going folks. I am trying to think about a few items at a time and not overwhelm myself. Setting ridiculous goals sets us up for failure and I dont like failure0 -
Morning all.
Well, my plans for the weekend, which included some decluttering and re-organisation, were derailed by Events of the criminal nature, and then we rolled straight into the work week, when I don't have much time and energy anyway.
Today will be archery after work, but I will swing by the recycling for the Tetr.a Paks as it is nearby. I have two flattened and washed ones in the dish-drainer and one nearly finished, so I think I'll decant that last bit of milk into a jug and get that one out of here as well.
One part of the remedial work for the crime spree will involve looking for the vinyl cloth (to make a sausage tube to cover a heavy-duty chain for the bike. That will take some stuff out of the stockpile.
Still have plenty of projects undone, but I suppose that it the nature of life. I shall take the opportunity of having the bike out of the bike shed (shed is 36 inches wide and the bike virtually fills it) to have a sweep out and tidy in there, to re-familiarise myself with the contents. I may also contemplate giving part of the sitting room a fresh coat of existing paint. I did part of it last year but two walls haven't been done for 7 years. It's the same colour, just to freshen it up and it'd be great if I could finish up a paint can and get rid.
Oh, and found a candle holder which can leave. I bought it with a candle for pence, to get the candle, don't like it and think someone else will so that went into the c.s. bag.
Hokay, time for a cuppa and Second Breakfast, then I better go earn some pennies. Have a good day, everyone. GQ xx
ETA Oh, one thing I did last night was to rationalise the net bag of carrier bags which was floating around the living room floor. I don't use many placcy bags and had got my inventory down low when Mum (bless her) gave me a lot. As in arrived with them, didn't ask if I needed any. As I do need a few a month as bin liners and for donations, I accepted them but was getting frustrated as everytime I tried to grab a full-size bag, I was getting a small one.
I have now split them into the regular and the small and lined the bucket-bin with about a dozen so that when each one is full, out it goes and the new one is already in place. This will speed things up somewhat and I must be very strict not to allow any more to enter the premises for the next few months.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Going to make some iced cakes with Valentine sweeties on to try and cheer things up this week. That will use up an excess of eggs.
Going to make some pretty notelets too as a mini Valentine present, which will use up some pretty paper left over from wedding invitations.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Grey Queen, I like the idea of multiple linings for your bin! I've always promised myself I'll make one of those sausage shaped bag holders but never done it. I'll add it to the list of projects that has been on the back of the kitchen door for some time.
Only minor decluttering of left overs into soup and garden into stove here.
Keep up the good work folks!0 -
I did have a sausage for the poly bags but I left one high up in the tube for too long and it was obviously one of those biodegradable ones and when I pulled it out, it came as a shower of plastic snowflakes!
Haven't been using the sausage as the cupboard where it was hanging is now full of other things and it doesn't fit. It was in the mesh bag with the other polly bags and I will launder it and re-make it into something else, it's just a bit of plain cotton cloth with a channel and drawstring at either end.
Last nigtht's decluttering was limited to the 3 Tetras into the recycling but hopefully I will be able to do some more after work. Am exhausted and haven't even done more than eat brekkie (the joys of life with ME).
Have a good day and catch you laters, GQ xxEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I got rid of a notebook yesterday by forcing it on to a customer. I'm sure they think I'm mad!
DH has a couple of shirts and a fleece to go.
Have done a quick wash this morning, and all dry clothes are away now. Still the house is a bit of a general mess. Weather is not helping at all.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. I did one of those "sorting out a manky draw" activities last night.
I was watching something on iplayer and twiddling my thumbs (can never do only one thing at a time!) so got out a draw from my chest of drawers. it contains perfume bottles, bits of makeup, other assorted carp and a lot of mank. So I cleared it - had to tip it over the bath as there was so much make up debris in the bottomand unfortunately put most of it back.
But there was a small carrier bag of very old make up, pens, hair bands, scrappy tissue etc. And I have been meaning to do it for a while. Baby steps, I guess
We also have a leak in our office at home (I know, get me - an office) . It is part of the house extension we had years ago and the soil stack from the bathrooms is in that room. it is boxed in, and we discovered that the floor is wet underneath it. Therefore we need to take down the boxing and fix the leak (which we think (hope) is from the bath and sink rather than the loo ). So I suggested that we use this as an opportunity to have a bliddy good sort out in there - the amount of paper in that room is unbelievable - and, amazingly OH has agreed. Every cloud and all that...

I hear you, we have leaks all over the place at home right now. Discovered a new leak last night in daughter's bedroom (in a place that's usually well protected) so am now in a panic as it.won't.stop.raining.We have fences down in the garden that have been there since before xmas, a leak that cost a bomb to repair last year that is now leaking again, and a roofer I can't get hold of (presumably since he's so busy repairing leaks!).
On top of that our intended kitchen refurb is going to cost more than we can afford so we might have to forget it. All is not well here."Why, this is hell, nor am I out of it."0 -
Oh dear, I was wondering how everyone is surviving today's biblical weather. We have leaks at work and are just focused on surviving the day as best we can. Going to try and do some washing when I get in tonight.
We bought a dehumidifier yesterday that I am hoping will make the place feel warmer so that we actually feel like doing something in the evening.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Minor decluttering going on in that I've deliberately used up some cleaning stuff so I don't have lots of half empty bottles hanging around in the bathroom.
