:) Some good stuff happening today.

I've had an errand-y day, if you know what I mean. Hit the street just after 9 am and helped a shopkeeper pal with an errand, then onto Wilko for seed spuds then home with milk.

Settled down to make the tube of vinyl cloth for my big bike chain so that's all done. Will return the bike to the shed tomorrow, it can have one more night indoors, with a good dose of hot mash and a hay net, and then off to the lottie tomorrow and back into the bike shed.

Where it'll be swathed in big welded link chains. I hope the villains will not be back. With three break-ins on two different sheds in a two week period, I figure I'm due for a break.

I had to return my holdall wrapped in binbags to the shed as there was no room and I do need my bath tub from time to time. I did remove my hiking poles which live inside it, and have tucked them under the bed for safe-keeping.

Also put shopping away on time, roundtuit, and I suffer from the same habit as you mentioned, where the chilled and frozen gets unpacked and the rest just sits.

Went to the chazzers to donate a small bag of books and came back to a letter from Hoxfam that they'd raised £54 with the gift aid from the bits and bobs I donated in a four-month period last year. I was frankly astonished as it was all wee things of no great value but it adds up.

Demonstrates the worthwhileness of keeping those charity bags on the go. I shall now go and declutter the last of the whoopsied Finest salmon fishcaked. Y'know, the ones with the really strong aluminium tray and the silver card.:o Wish me luck in parting with those...........

:D And I thank you for the reminder.:D

One of my[STRIKE] fellow inmates[/STRIKE] err colleagues had the darlingest 4 egg cardboard egg box in a lovely violet colour. I have explained not to leave that near me as it's almost as tempting empty as full.

Going to slope off into the kitchen to do something creative with leftovers whilst listening to a few toons. Such are the many excitements which my life doth hold. I had to forcibly stop myself dancing in the street this morning as some buskers were playing bossa nova (I think). Anyway, it put a smile on my face and a skip in my stride.

I've re-discovered my love of music too :). I was listening to an 80s CD while washing the pots yesterday, just singing along 'til Wham came on and then found myself bopping around the kitchen - handy stuff that floor, isn't it? :rotfl:
Not sure I'll achieve the 'zilch washing by tonight' goal as DS brought home some washing yesterday. I don't mind. I'll do what I can to get things washed and dried (that's the difficult bit) and he can play clothes relay - taking back some of the clothes I've already laundered.
When I picked up DS I told him he 'might' notice a difference at home. What did he say when he came in? 'Wow Mum! You said I MIGHT notice a difference, I'd have to be blind not to!!!' :T According to him now we have floor instead of 'alleys' :D
Someone on this thread said if we carried on with our baby steps we'd notice a difference by mid-February. I was sceptical at the time, but you were right :j. Sorry I can't remember who it was, but you know who you are....thank you :lovethoug

    Up and on. Back later.

The place is a tip today. We were out all day yesterday and tired when we got back. DD got various toys out but we haven't packed others away before getting the next lot out.

I gathered up all the crockery and put the dishwasher on. I've also sorted the washing that needs to be done into piles.

I have some newly arrived gifts to wrap and put away (MSE bargains).

Then I have a shoe boxed sized box from our wedding invitations (which we made). I am going to make some notelets and envelopes from that. I will hopefully do some this afternoon, if I can get tidied up this morning.

I've washed, dried and put away the pots; washed down the cooker top which is no longer hidden under piles of unwashed pots and items awaiting recycling and so can now be used! :T; and washed the detergent drawer from the WM _pale_. Could it be that a domesticated Roundtuit is emerging???
I've torn a remnant of flipchart pad into quarters and recycled it; unwrapped a Katy Perry CD and put it on the CD pile; unpacked a handwarmer which may not be a 'keeper' but it does have an owl on it so I've put it in a drawer for now rather than get 'stuck' on what to do with it; found DS's memory stick that he was looking for the last time he was home; and...........trumpet fanfare........great excitement and BIG smiles chez moi........... I've found my pink-with-white-polka-dots-snuggly-slipper-boots. Oh yayyy, woop woop. I remembered I had them but I didn't have a clue where they were, and now they're found.:T:j (This is what I call the 'up' side of being a recovering hoarder - you find much loved but long-lost treasures. I am a happy Roundtuit. And making such discoveries spurs me on to do more.)
Wonder what else is in that bag???/

Last time I had my living room looking relatively tidy I was really disappointed that when my son visited he didn't comment. I gave him a whole 5 minutes before I said anything. He then said that he had been just about to say how tidy it looked. It was spoiled by then though.

It all went to pot when I started looking for the exam certificates so need to get back on it. I've sorted out a lot of paperwork this week and am going to put most of it in the spare room. Then I need to do something that actually makes the house look better. The paperwork definitely needed sorting but it's like when you tidy out a drawer, takes a lot of time but the room doesn't look any better for it.

I've found though that for me it does somehow lighten the oppressiveness of a room if you can open a drawer or a cupboard and it isn't heaving - obviously psychological (and admittedly I'm a bit strange in the brain department!:p).

It's been a lovely bright morning, after weeks of downpours and very dark heavy skies. So I've planted bulbs with DD into the freebie pots with the rehydrated soil which has used up those gubbins and removed them from the kitchen, plus used up some broken crockery I was saving for the purpose.

I've thrown a lily that clearly doesn't like my brand of "care", and thrown open the doors and windows before the inevitable return of the rain later. I have some paperwork stuck in the shredder half done so will have to un-gum that and press on. Have promised the kids a cinema visit later this afternoon, so will try and fit bits and bobs round that.
    :AA/give up smoking (done) :)
  • Lovely sunny Sunday here, hope everyone is well.

I've finally managed to clear the front part of the cupboard from h*ll - its one of those that goes right over the back of the stairs on 2 different levels. PJ's have been sorted and the majority binned (just 2 drawers left!). 5 bags to charity, 3 binned and a pile of shredding ready to go.

I've also cleared out the bathroom which spurred me onto re-painting it yesterday and with the sun shining through today, does look quite nice for a change.

Was about to pop out for some more hand towels when 4 appeared in the pile from the cupboard clear out, that actually go with the new paint colour. So a bit more money saved by clearing up/out.

Just having a cuppa before I attack the ironing pile I think. I would like to take some of the garden rubbish to the tip but its sopping wet underneath and I don't want to get the car insides wet and mouldy. I also need to get in touch with a metal collector as well as there is an old set of ladders and a bed base out there that is too big for the car.

Actually, if the sun just comes round a bit more I can take my cuppa out to the garden - I know that if the pile of junk is in front of me I will start to do something about it.
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
    Fingers crossed x
