Welcome to those just joined.
Right........i'm going in to the pink room today. the reason being that the plumber is coming so service boiler and bleed radiators etc and he won't be able to get to the radiator in that room as it stands at the moment.
I have no real plan, as don't really know what's in there to be honest, it will be loads of bedding boxes, clothes,shoes,boots,......and then lots of random stuff that I have no clue where to put in this house....or even if to keep it.
I shall do a few loads of washing, change the bed, and will have to clean and hoover. Bit of a bummer really as tired and could have loved a sloblady day........watching the 'house tarts of....' as my friends and I call them. The vancouver one is hotting up at the moment...I don't know how most of them call each other friends, but funny to watch. I also could have wasted 2hrs watching north and south. Never mind, i'll record it for a slob day.
Hopefully I will de-richard some stuff from the pink room and be ruthless and not just move stuff about and do a 'organised tidy hoard'. When I had my house warming everyone couldn't believe that really I hadn't had to buy much and that I had managed to fill a 3 bed semi with a dining room and conservatory from a 1 bed flat with only a lounge. I'm also really good at packing practically an entire wardrobe into a holiday suitcase.....lol.
I've been awake since 4am, so have cleaned the kitchen already, going for another few hours kip with a plan (and alarm set) to get up at 9ish and get on with things.
Good luck to those at it today.
Oh and what a nice thing to do for your mum GQ.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -
Evening all.
Been at work and up at the supermarche with the tetra pak recycling, so took a stash of those which had been accumulating in a bag in the cupboard, all washed and flattened but still taking up space. They don't take them in the recycling in general.
Feeling a teensy bit virtuous :A plus have decluttered the last of the "marbles" - those pesky small h.g. potatoes which I like to eat first as they don't keep so well as the bigger ones.
Rule of thumb for storing h.g. small spuds and big onions should be eaten first as they don't keep well.
Tomorrow will declutter the library book I have just finished a few mins ago and start the one I got earlier today. Me down to just one or two library books at a time, this is some kind of miracle.
I also was about to get the ironing board out to iron the bedsheet lying folded in half across the clothes airer. I have an eccentric habit of putting sheets on the bed unironed if I can get them washed and dried the same day, but ironing them if they have to go into the airing cupboard.
Pulled myself up on this irrationality tonight and just folded and put away, much more pleasing.
Just taken the freebie sportsbag thingy I got given a couple of weeks ago for attending a thingy and considered that it isn't the type of bag I would ever use so will add it to the charity bag.Confessions, please; how many and what kind of things are cluttering up your life because they were free............?

Evening campers...
HMmmmmmm.......plan hasn't gone quite to plan.
Have changed bed which seemed to take for ever today for some reason (I never iron sheets or the duvet cover...I must be a right lazy mare!). Have cleaned bedroom and done 3 loads of washing that is now all over the place.
I ventured into the pink room (which I still haven't painted white yet) and found myself staring at it all with no clue what to do with it as still haven't got any wardrobes built due to wanting to save up some money for it. ......so just ended up sorting bags and bags of bedding out into better order. nothing thrown out, but plumber can get to radiator.
In fact place looks more messy now due to washing all over and house is like a flipping oven even with the door open in an attempt to dry it before tomorrow which is going to be a fail.
Needed to go to hole in wall for cash for plumber and found myself in a shop....as you do...and got 6 packs of s.salmon and 5 salmon pieces for under 13 squids so that was a bargain...there's always a positive in a day somewhere.
I have lost the tidy up /de-rchard battle today, so having a peach snapps and going for a bath (will clean bathroom after whilst drying ) so that's another room down.
Oh and got the emergency winter cat food in so all her stuff 'winter/snowed-in' is sorted. The asbo cat is better organised and sorted than me. Did try to de-richard a few cat toys but I was being watched so abandoned it until she is asleep. Actually thinking about it my dog was a hoarder too, when I used to sort his stuff into keep and throw out piles it was like he knew which was which and would trot backwards and forward putting the throw pile back into his beds....cat has clearly been taking lessons from him at some point.
Nothing will be done tomorrow as in Durham, will have to attack grass on saturday weather permitting.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -
I never iron duvet covers, calicocat, but have had a sort of nerdy thing about opening my airing cupboard and seeing my linens in nice neat stacks.
Makes me feel domesticated, I guess. Howsomever, I am trying to lower my standards in some areas in order to raise them in others, and to have some more free time for [STRIKE]playing on the interwebs [/STRIKE] errm, I meant reading improving books, honest.
I have occasionally spread sedition among those devoted to the womanly arts of housewifery, such as the time when an acquaintance confessed her annoyance at the one-up-womanship of her neighbour; they were competing to get the wash out on the line ever earlier in the morning and at the point we spoke it had come down to clothespins at 6 am.
She seemed genuinely-startled by my suggestion that she just not play that game any more.........wonder how that panned out?Of course a truly devious housewife would've pegged the wash out after dark and laid abed til 9.

11 children, 4 of the 6 cats and 3 binbags.. the latter currently blocking up my hallway. A double pushchair I was sent to review. Lol.....i would have be a devious one and had it out at midnight. I'm sure where I live now there is some competition over how many millimetres the front lawn is.....clearly I am not in this club, and have no intention of joining....in fact I wallow in slob-land knowing it probably really annoys most of them as mine gets WAY beyond the 'allowed' length.
I too used to have all my bedding in lovely neat piles in the airing cupboard (just not ironed)..thats the problem I have here, no airing cupboard as one of those slim line combi boilers.
Bathroom cleaned.......and me.
Pigpen........you must live in a mansion!....and i'm trying to picture how big your dining table must be for xmas day...or any family meal come to it. you always sound so organised for having to keep on top of all those bods!Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... free toiletries and make-up samples - keep them but never use them ever - no idea why, I think I have aspirational ideal that someday I'll have enough time of a morning to do more than rudimentary ablutions. still, dd is using them up as she has moved to indoor potions now the weather has turned. DS is constantly complaining that there are never any non-potionified water receptacles in the bathroom - he has a point.
I iron nothing, ever. I have an iron and an ironing board which I've removed the broken legs from, which was last used to set fabric paints on t-shirts at dd's birthday party many months ago. I cannot imagine getting up early to hang out washing to out do a neighbour!! Mind you my washing is frequently out before the neighbourhood is up, but usually because I've left it out for 4 days and can't be ars*d to bring it in!
no progress today - littlies are having trouble sleeping - due mainly to trying to do it whilst jumping on beds, playing, chatting. So i've been sitting in first dd's room and then ds's enforcing a "lie down, eyes shut and no talking" policy, which despite the cries of "I'm bored, I can't sleep if I'm bored" has worked.
tomorrow is another day.:AA/give up smoking (done)0 -
Morning all.
Need to get on with the decluttering this morning. I'm going to start with two of the kitchen cabinets which need cleaning and sorting. Then it's a quick check of the freezers. I did this awhile ago so it shouldn't take too long.
Then ironing......I don't mind ironing. Please don't hate me;).
Later I need to go to the charity shop with two bags of clothes and two shelves.
Actually I seem to be avoiding the corner from hell in the bedroom.;)1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%
