Well the only thing I have dr-richarded today is money!....lol.

Took mum out for the day for an early birthday as i'm at work on the actual day. Got some secateurs (is that how you spell them?) that are for people with arthritis or problems gripping things (she's a mad keen gardener). Went for lunch and a look round the shops......and 3 garden centres !!.......3!!!....i'm done in.

Boiler services....have had to get him to disable the gas fire as it is one that has a catalytic converter (no it's a fire not a car), and previous owner hasn't left book for it to check gas levels etc. i'm not really bothered as they give me a headache and prefer heating on. Got it tapped off just in case anyone staying put it on and haven't had gas level checked.

Tomorrow plan is to have another look at pink room... to be honest I was quite embarrassed at someone seeing all the mess, so will do more. this may simply be a case of more 'organising' into something neater as nowhere to put it all. Plumber was well impressed with loft, and loft shelving, and loft boarding out, and loft size. He got quite excited......I told him why I wasn't using it and you could see he was lost in a moment of....'boy that's great', and was already planning what he would be putting in there if it was his......dead funny.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

:) Good going that woman; I take it that the pink room is a bedroom? I have a pink room; strawberry mivvi pink, IYKWIM; the kitchen. It's not domineering because the place is rammed with white melamine cabinetry from the seventies.

Tonight I have spent a bit of time wrangling with the pooter which had decided to pay YooToob vids in silent mode. Thought my speakers were disconnected or their fuse had blown so hauled the tower out of the desk and found a lot of fluff and my second pair of eyebrow tweezers.

Bygorry, they were gone so long I couldn't even remember their loss. Everything is tightened up and the fuse changed and I played a CD on the pooter and the speakers work unless I try YT and then it's Mimeville.

Anyone got a clue? I've emailed my tech wiz but it's Fri night and he's prolly out on the razz.

Also decluttered some on-the-turn fruit into a mixed fruit salad with custard, so that's all good.

I also was rootling in the pan drawer under my cooker and found an oven tin I'd not seen for so long I'd forgotten it, and it's perfect for cooking the odd lasagne in, so that's a purchase saved.

    :p It's all good.

GQ, it is possible to move the slider for the volume control on the video interface in YouTube without realising, have you done that? Or accidentally clicked on 'mute?'

Over on the Messies thread I came across a 'get yourself organised' blog that I can really relate to.

Thus inspired, I decluttered a hard to reach (with my arthritis and carp balance) corner of the lounge. I'd been putting it off but now a pile of 'kept just in case' old teaching resources is in the bin.

Go on the teckie boards?...they were great when I had a phone problem...they will definitely know what you should do.

You just shove a question out (not like here where there is an expectation of discussion) and it is magically answered. Obviously if you have a question they come back, but it's all answers or problem solving which is great. I'm sure they will be able to help.

Seems like a common problem, my son who is a whizz at things like this always advises ask google. So i did "No sound on you tube but CD works" and got some answers.

    Hope it helps.

on continuing my decluttering, the OH has suggested I have got rid of so much (hes not impressed) I need to contact the insurance company to ask for a reduction in the house contents insurance. I wont be doing that, but when he is away for a few days next week, I intend to get rid of even more.

    GQ....

Yes the 'pink' room is a spare bedroom/dumping ground for now.

And it used to belong to a small person, so it has an alarmingly bright barbie pink carpet, and slightly lighter barbie pink walls. When I moved the guys moving me would walk in there and scream something...asbo cat loves it though.

    Hi GreyQueen
Wasn't ignoring your request but went back to lurkdom. to explain.. In an attempt to shame self into action agreed to allow young people to host a dinner party, spent ages hiding and tidying, but guests started to arrive much earlier than expected when I was at the stage of horror before the calm. Anyways all went well in the end, just means now their friends know I'm the crazy from crazyville.
