Good things are happening left, right, above and below in our lives. Go, us.
Today I took a doorstep of a library book back and purchased a smallish paperback (which will go out once it's been read). I also found a bed valance in a colour which will match my bedroom which was something I've been looking for in the charity shops for months.
Brand new, but unpacked it; valance in washer, polybag in bin, cardboard wrapper in recycling. Plus a sauce jar from the storecupboard to the supper, lid discarded, jar washed and immediately in the recycling.
Tomorrow's cunning plan will be to get the panniers on the pushbike and myself and bike to the lottie to chisel away at The Rough. I've been in quite a bit of pain for the past 8-9 days as seem to have done something to my right hip and it hurts like billy-o. Am doing stretches and trying to sit with better posture and hope this too will pass. It may impact on the gardening, but I won't know until I get going.I also have a small amount of space in my tabletop freezer, which is astonishing to me. Must continue to eat out of there so that there will be more room for bargains when I hit a stream of gold at YS time.
Keep on going, lovely peeps. We have nothing to lose but our <<< insert clutter bugbear-of-choice>>>Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I work full-time but I have made tiny dots of progress since I announced my 'intention'
Every time I go upstairs I bring something down from DS's tip/ bedroom....I wondered where all the glasses were!! Cans have been brought down for recycling and loose change piled into piles (what else? :rotfl:) and all the 2ps, 1ps and 5ps have been decluttered into the charity box.
I've sorted Mount Washmore into piles (more piles!!!) Tidy clutter.
I was feeling a tad overwhelmed by the sheer volume of stuff I need to sort/do - but keep thinking ' how do you eat an elephant...' First pile into the WM was my workwear; knickers next.... no desire to go commando at work next week.
I've promised a large bag of Duplo bricks to a work colleague - (DS is nearly 21 and doesn't play with them anymore)- for her mum's new Toddler Group for Grans, so I'll put them in the car boot ready for Monday. I also have 10 books ready for the CS....need to fond my Gift Aid number thingy - then they can go into the boot for delivery on Monday too.
I am doing ok - I am doing ok - I am doing ok

you are doing brilliantly roundtoit
.
My clean mount washmore was all on the kitchen table yesterday, seemed enormous (well was enormous). felt like I didn't achieve much at all yesterday but I did manage to get the washing sorted into owners and put in their rooms and the house doesn't seem so overwhelming this morning so combination of the small bits I did yesterday and a good night's sleep ha made progress.:AA/give up smoking (done)0 -

Well, been wrassling with The Rough again today.
Pleased to report that Bramble Island has suffered some serious "coastal erosion" today and is now a mere 2.5 x 1 paces. In my defense, I'm long-legged and the remaining island holds some horrors such as the chickenwire. Can see some disappearing underground and some above ground on the others side and they may or may not be connected.
Suspect that what's left will be more than mortal flesh can endure to clear tomorrow, but will aim for 50% minimum. Such a shame I can't have a gardening back like I have gardening boots and clothes, to change in and out of as necessary.
I liberated 3/4 of a bucket of non-organic carp from The Rough last weekend and today; glass, nails, scraps roofing felt, plastic, bits of china and lots of plastic. I even thought I'd struck gold at one point but it was a false hope; was merely the bit of a food tin lid.
Disposed of the 3/4 bucket and reckon it weighed about a kilo. Will discover some more tomorrow, I'm sure.
Tomorrow's mission will include wringing by the leccy recycling section of the tip with a knackered leccy toothbrush and charger. Brush part is on the back of the bath, charger on top of the freezer.....in fact, I'll get them now or I can see this not happening as it hasn't happened for the past several weeks already - done!
Now, at least they are in the bag that I'm taking to the lottie tomorrow, which is half the battle. The other half is remembering the detour on the way home, lol.
I have spent a couple of hours with a pal this aft and her present has liberated a few inches in my cupboard, plus a gift bag from the cache and a card from the card tin.
Today I cleared off my table. It's the only table on the premises and is about 3.5 feet long and 2 feet wide. It normally functions as a dumping ground and I end up eating on a tray on my lap. I also postpone sewing jobs which involve the sewing machine because this is the only place to use it.
Sooo, decided to clear it. Most of the stuff was a pot pourri of randomness but a lot of it was notes and stuff on scraps of paper. Lots of things which I wanted to keep hold off.
Then I really looked at them and was able to eliminate some; receipts which weren't necessary, quotations (I copied them into a notebook of quotations, which is something I've added to as I find random stuff which inspires or amuses), some now obsolete to-do and shopping lists, a couple of things I actioned and then shredded.
This left a big chunk of stuff which inc a lot of books which I've taken note of and may want to read one day. And this is where I had a LBM.
Couple of weeks back I was pleased to buy an A5 Red & Black brand notebook with alphabet tabs for only £1 in a chazzer. I really like these books but heaven knows they ain't cheap, even the small ones. So, I decided this was the most perfect place to write my wanted books down, alphabetically by author and it's small enough to fit in my handbag when I go shopping.Feeling good about this. Can't imagine why a reasonably-intelligent peep such as myself hadn't thought of this years ago, but we clutterers have ish-shews.
Keep on keeping on, sounds as if the mutual support is bearing dividends. GQ xxEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Bag of Mega-bloks for colleague and bag of books for CS both ready to leave the house tomorrow.
Two bags of stuff (clothes & text books mostly) belonging to DS already been delivered to my parents' - they'll take them over to Hull tomorrow.
DS's racing suit and boots also taken to parents' for storage until next race day.
Six plastic receptacles washed and returned to my friend (she loves cooking and sends me a portion over)
More of DS's clothes drying on line - I've told parents I'll drop them off on my way to work tomorrow, so they can be taken to Hull too. (That child has way too many clothes!!)
Whilst searching for my Gift Aid labels for CS bag, I found my scissors :T so replacement pair loaned by parents can also be returned tomorrow.
Pile (small mountain) of paperwork ravaged whilst searching for labels, momentarily overwhelmed me, but I've started to sort it one piece of paper at a time. Keep, shred, recycle, or bin.
Hoping the silence on the forum is an indication that others are having a good day too.
