Renovations here - not one room tidy.
We are sleeping on chair beds - our bed is in half - hidden in one of the bedrooms. Good job - the chair beds are comfy.
Decorator now working on last of the 9 areas that needed to be done.
The surplus kipple is still over in neighbour's spare room.
Will we ever be builder's dust free and finished?

Afternoon all
I have spent a moment catching up with this thread as i have been off line for a couple of days. I'm now feeling inspired and think I will go and declutter the draws in the desk and replace the handles. I would love to declutter the desk but its keeping the space where I plan to put a sewing station eventually. If I get rid of it DH will move some musical instrument into it.
It's a job I have been putting off for ages so I will come back and say what I have achieved.

 Parsniphead!
Report back immediately; do you need a rescue party? We all know what it's like to be boxed into corners by kipple.
LiR, your home is coming along beautifully.
I honestly stand in awe of those having builders and other trades all over their homes. I had my bathroom redone by my LL this time last year and it seemed like a lot longer than one week. And I've also been on-site supervisor for my parents' extension and felt that 5 weeks aged me about 5 years.........wouldn't want to go thru that again.
Today the sum total of my declutter is ta dah! taking the rubbish out on the way to w*rk. But I have cleared the decks and cleaned both bathroom and kitchen sinks and half the cooker top.I'm not too idle to do more than half at once, but the other half was too hot from having had the kettle boiled on that side. Mebbe I can finesse it so I boil it on the opposite side tomorrow and then get that half cleaned.
I'm not a flylady but I do have to say that with the dishes washed and the sink clean, I do feel in charge of that part of the domestic front.
Hokay, onwards and outwards.............Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

GreyQueen - taking the rubbish out in a morning, that's just showing off.;)
I survived the decluttering of three desk draws. I have some paperwork which needs filing, but have one bag of shredding and one bag of chuck out rubbish. I did start shredding but the shredder got tired after 5 sheets. it will take about a month to shred at this rate.
I really want to do some decorating as I have just got back from mums and its so cosy. More incentive to get rid of the rubbish.
Keep dry everyone, it's a mucky night out there.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

Hello
It was DD's bday last week and she wanted friends over cue manic panic but it got done and was a success. Now DS has said he wants friends over today, he will cook for them and entertain. So what have I done all day.....solitaire on laptop. What is wrong with me. Hoover is out and downstairs done between 3 of us. Still no room on dining table but that is slowly being moved however all the bags of toot I stashed in wdrobes 2 weeks ago are still there and builders due next week. It's my birthday tomorrow so OH and I are going out tonight whilst young people take over the house. I really need to get moving. My bathroom is shamefull. No idea how DS will cook in my cluttered kitchen. Oh well. 4 loads of washing done. Heating just gone on so maybe some of it will dry. Feel like I'm rambling now so time to move.WL 11 st 5lb as at 050109. 160209 11st 2lb

Afternoon all.
Forgive me for I have sinned and bought a new holdall into my life. In my defence (yer honour) it was as-new for a fiver in the charity shop and is a replacement for the existing one which has failed to accomodate the hiking gear inc walking poles which I take on holiday and is slated to be charity-shopped itself.
One in, one out, that's the way to do it.
I have been up on the allotment from mid-morning to mid-afternoon and thus avoiding the rain. I am busting-with-pride to report that fully one third of The Rough has been de-richarded and half-a-carrier-bag of plastic, glass and nails was discarded today. That was from about 4 sq m of ground and I suspect there will be more lurking under there.
Tomorrow, weather permitting, I shall go into The Rough from a strategic angle, near the runner bean wigwams, which will enable me to link the cleared bit to the long-since-cleared-and-under-cultivation bit. It will have the effect of slicing The Rough into two islands. Each is pre-loaded with a chickenwire bogie and one has a buried tarp, but I'm breaking it into smaller and more manageable chunks.I'm also kicking myself for not having dealt with this before (as in the 5.5 years before) as I have wasted so much time shearing the top off the tall grass to stop it seeding and various other surface tidying type jobs when I could have invested that time in clearance and got rid of it all.
There's a lesson there. I like to learn by my mistakes. Well, to be truthful, I'd rather learn by other peoples' mistakes but sometimes you have to live the idiocy all on your very own.
Onwards and outwards, my lovelies!Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Not much progress here after the first full week back in school I'm afraid
Having fought my way into the garage today to find a pirate eye patch (random I know, and I couldn't find it anyway), I came across about a dozen empty plastic storage boxes of assorted sizes (from huge to very small and all with lids!). The plan is that, as they are looking a bit grubby and dusty, I will clean them all up tomorrow and bring some of them into the house because I won't be able to resist the temptation to fill them (I love storage boxes almost as much as stationery) Just need to remember to sort through the kipple first and NOT just transfer it into boxes (though I would then have tidy, organised kipple :rotfl: )
Summer has revisited here today so hoping for more of the same tomorrow. Hope everyone's weekend is going well xx0 -
