Absolutely of no relevance to decluttering - but GreyQueen, some VII (Very Important Info!) for you - hope you've got an ASDA nearby? FB Pies are £1 for the big 'un! I've just added 4 to my overstuffed 'Tins' cupboard (tho' only 3 now coz we gave into temptation & had one for dinner!).
I am within a couple of miles of a HASDA.
Lookout, shoppers, there will be a pie-seeking missile incoming at the weekend. I never pay more than £1 for them but they are getting harder to find and I don't like to have less than 20 on the premises at any given time.Well, if you need to have a missile come the Zombie Apocalapse, you can spin-throw them like Frisbees........
ETA, on re-reading yesterday's post, I realise I inadvertantly told a lie; I also have a 5 drawer chest of drawers in the bedroom. I sort it out periodically - honest!
Isn't this the time of year when the Argussy catalogue changes from Spring/ Summer to Autumn/Winter, too? One habit I've tried to get my Mum into is when a new catalogue/ phone book etc arrives, to immediately track down the one it is replacing and recycle the oldie. Saves space and confusion when searching for info.
I don't actually use phone books and space is so tight here that I refuse to have them on the premises. I know that sounds ridiculous, but my home is ridiculously small and I have to be a bit extreme about some things.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Read and catch up with thread to gather ideas and get some motivation.
Well I made some progress on my list yesterday as I cleaned the bathroom walls and managed to give them 2 coats of paint, however I am still needing to do another coat, which I hope to get done tonight after college. Tonight I will also aim to read and catch up with some of the thread. If I get the third coat done tonight I will plan to clean the tiles tomorrow and sort through the medicine cabinet.0 -
I found that most of my clutter came from catalogues so I now refuse to have any in the house. If we need anything we look on their website and order it. As long as we don't browse the site it really helps to cut down the clutter and saves money.S.P.C. 9 2016 No. 062 Banked £337.50

DH offered to get rid of 9 old text books last weekend, I immediately offered them on gumtree and were picked up by a grateful student within 24 hours.
DH was never going to look at them again, so what was the point of keeping them?, anyway they have gone to a new home and we have freed up half a bookshelf. :j
On the subject of catalogues, I have been un-subscribing from them as soon as they come through the door recently. I just go onto their website and send the customer service dept an email to remove me from all future mailings.
I have been doing the same with email newsletters too and freeing up my inbox, so that important emails don't get overlooked any-more.Value of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set

I now bin catalogues as they come through the door, as they have lots of lovely things artfully draped in lovely homes. If I don't look I don't get tempted....
and phone books don't even make it in, they go straight in the outdoor recycling.
This is probably the one thing I am consistently very good at!!!
stoopid back is still blinking hurting, patient choices website tells me the treatment is painkillers, remaining active and to go to my doc after x weeks if it doesn't improve, so I've ordered a long-arm grabber so I can pick the stuff up off the floor. The kids are poorly, so all in all no progress here. but cheering you all on.:AA/give up smoking (done)0 -

Please tell me how you got him to do that! I've been trying to get OH to get rid of his uni text books from 1982-1988 for at least 10 years! And they can't be relevant any more - they'll probably only be recycled by the CS.
But no - he insists on keeping them - he hasn't looked at them since he left Uni in 1988....:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -

Today I decluttered two chocolate bars. It was a tough job, but never let it be said that I shrink from the toughies.............feeling slightly ill atm which serves me right for being a piggie.
I've taken out a bag of recycling, inc finishing a bottle of w.p. liquid which was MIA in the back of the undersink cupboard for the longest time, then draged forth to be used. Back on the hard stuff now (moaning frish).
My neighbourhood has communal recycling bins. Big general waste and recycling super-wheelies, and smaller wheelies for glass and food waste. The ratio of gen waste to recyc bins was about 2:1 but has recently had to be increased to 3:1 as the gen waste ones were overflowing. This is the reverse of my own personal output which is about 2 bags of recycling to 1 bag of waste.
Green stuff goes to the allotment dalek and certain other things which aren't recycled in the recyc here go on little adventures with me a few times a year to far-flung places; tetra-paks and bottle tops and printer cartirdges etc have their outlets if you know where to look.
Righty, should wander off to the rest of the web. I have been combing thru my computer bookmarks and decluttering websites which don't make the grade....very theraputic unless you get distracted - and I'm easily distracted.
Keep on with the good work, lovely peeps. GQ xxEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
