There's gotta be a story there. Pls share.
My view is that if friends come early for supper, they can help prep it. They're very useful for cooking rice, I find; I'm a bit scatty and don't cook it very well.
I do however allow them a free pass on the dishwashing......:pEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

It's Talk Like A Pirate day on Thursday 19th September, you're making sure everything is shipshape.... Yarrr! and sorry for the pun.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

hurt my back, think I must have slept on it strangely - not bad, I can walk and stuff but I can't bend and if I crouch to pick stuff up I don't seem to be able to get up! so I've sorted through the tangle of my knitting basket and I'm sort of clearing things that are at waist height but definitely on a go slow (it seems I must spend quite a lot of time picking stuff up off the floor without thinking as it's definitely piling up down there....).
dad coming to visit on monday, was feeling a bit anxious as usually I spend lots of time cleaning and clearing before he comes, but I can't this time, so as he is incredibly organised if I'm still like this I'll ask him to help out - he'll probably relish the chance to attack my apparently bizarre cutlery system!:AA/give up smoking (done)0 -

we must have a gazillion in the kids bedrooms, but I am too afeared to venture in (there be dragons.....)
You show great wisdom, Grasshopper.
Strange and terrible things evolve under the beds in children's rooms from leftover food and drink and unmentionable unwashed under-pinnings.
If in doubt, wait until they leave home then hire a bio-hazard team to decontaminate.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

No pirate patches here , but today I've had "fun " sorting out my sock drawers. I'm afraid that's right, drawers; there's more than one of them. Having lived in sandals through the summer, it was time to marshal the troops for winter. I went through a lengthy phase of buying a pair every time I've popped in to Primarni, and I popped in every week...
I know that having so many socks represented safety, even if the washing machine breaks down I will always have a clean pair. At least it has stopped now - I don't plan to buy any more.
In fact I probably won't have to buy any before I retire - and that's likely to be in 11 years time!
Today I was able to cull all those socks and tights showing wear, so that was a step forward.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
I have linked this article about Silver Line in as I am sure that it will be relevant to someone somewhere on this thread:

That is a really good idea. I used to work within elderly care years ago, and people really would not believe the loneliness some people go through. People often assume that someone is visiting elderly at some point as they 'must' have family that care etc....this just isn't the case, people are often neglected, not on purpose always, but forgotten with busy lives etc.
Anyhow, rant over, brilliant idea.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -

I wouldn't dare, do unto others and all that .... except for my bestest friend, her house is like a show home. I love going there and dreaming that maybe one day my house .. yeah! more like hallucinating!0
