Where are the worst places you've been on holiday?

Varadero, Cuba.
Couldn't even get directions without having to tip first.0 -

Fuerteventura in April... cold and windy.

The worst place I've ever been to was Pattaya, Thailand but that was for business.
Worst holiday, even though we spent US$250 for a weekend was Bali, Indonesia. We were in the Kuta/Seminyak area. In the words of my partner "like Newquay, but hot". We basically felt it's where the late 20-somethings go when they're too old for Magaluf and have more money.0 -
Shame about Margarita. I loved it! I went over 10 years ago and found it pretty unspoilt as it was before people really knew about it. There were few "resorts" and no direct flights. Are there nowadays?Going4TheDream wrote: »Isla Margarita, never ever ever again. We and others we met out there took action against the holiday company it was so desperately dire0 -
Have to agree with the opening poster; Sunny Beach, but I will also add Burgas, Pomorie, and most of the places we visited in Bulgaria (we hired a car and travelled around).
The exceptions were Nessebar and Sozopol, but then they were both crammed with tourists.
I definitely wouldn't choose to go back to Bulgaria - anywhere!0 -

Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass but learning to dance in the rain0 -

Bali was one of my favourite holidays! Though I travelled around and spent most of my time in Ubud - which has a very different feel to Kuta, much more relaxed - yoga each morning at the Yoga Barn overlooking rice fields - did lovely walks and bought a few too many wood carvings! Its such an easy island to travel around.
Worst holiday was Morocco - such a disappointment - after a week we were bored -and fed up of being over charged, etc0 -
That was our experience tooHezzawithkids wrote: »Morocco. Hot, smelly, full of flies and horrible people.
