Where are the worst places you've been on holiday?

Cyprus I hated it as soon as I stepped off the plane.0

In the UK it has to be Rhyl, visited about 15 to 20 years ago with 2 young children. Absolutely terrible place.
Overseas without doubt Kusadasi in Turkey. Filthy hovel of a place which I cannot understand why the cruise ships use it as a stop off.0 -
Lanzarote. Very cloudy and overcast to start with, which with the black volcanic rock just made me feel very depressed. If I'd wanted to feel depressed I would have just stopped in Brum - same feeling for a lot less money. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

That's the great thing about going on a cruise. We had a day in Lanzarote last year as part of a cruise, and we knew within minutes that we were never, ever going back !
Funny thing though my (Spanish) brother loves the place and holidays there most years in the winter0 -
I've never had a bad holiday.
There have been bad bits, car crashes, broken arm (Lanzarote), food poisonings, sinking boats, bad weather and so on, but they have all been positive experiences overall.0 -
I so had to laugh at this.
Because we never don't enjoy anywhere we go, because we always find a base 1st, usually somewhere lively, then we go and explore and travel, be it bus, train or car.
Then we go back to our base at the end of a night, and then we look for a nice bar, with a bit of atmosphere.
So for eg, we stay at playa de las Americas, in Tenerife at a cheap b/b, then we travel the island, going again in 1 day time for the 40 millionith time, and i'm going to get the bus to 3 places I've not been. And I've got a list of 7 restaurants just out of town to try.0 -
Turkey - don't remember where exactly so I just categorise all of it as cr#p.
Also agree with Lanzarote and it being grey and dull. Add to that windy, you didn't go on the beach to get a suntan, you went to get sandblasted!0 -
Scotland, nuff said.0

Marmaris, Turkey.
Couldn't have a stroll without being pestered or annoyed every 10 paces. Someone always trying to get you into their restaurant or sell you something. Just felt we could never actually rest.A smile costs nothing, but gives a lot.It enriches those who receive it without making poorer those who give it.A smile takes only a moment, but the memory of it can last forever.0 -
Isla Margarita, never ever ever again. We and others we met out there took action against the holiday company it was so desperately direDont wait for your boat to come in 'Swim out and meet the bloody thing'0
