Cancelled Subscription via Paypal - Can I be forced to pay?

Sorry, I haven't been able to read all the messages on here. but definitely we need to get an action group together because until I found this forum and thread, I thought I was the only one that was being harrassed by these crooks.
I too made the 'mistake' of cancelling via PayPal (within the free-trial period) and not 'officially' and to be honest there is no way in the world I'm paying them - I've blocked their emails because I simply don't care, what they think they can do. There are some things which are unlawful and some things which are simply plain wrong.
A legitimate business wouldn't try to scam someone via mistakes, and they'd be VERY concerned about their reputation.
This company isn't.
They are out to cheat.
It's as though they've not heard of Twitter (yes, tweet their behaviour, get them a bad reputation).
And yes, definitely contact the Trading Standards Office because this WILL get looked into if enough of us complain.0 -
Also,
I would like to ask one other little thing.
Did anyone think when they paid £19 that they were paying for ONE month ?
When they first harrassed me, I was tricked in the email to go onto the system to cancel, but at that point the only choices left were to pay monthly or a yearly payment.
So just to get this monkey off my back I went into the site and paid monthly to give him one month's pay. It was then that I learnt that these scam artists actually only offer a yearly subscription which you can pay montly or yearly ???????
At the time, that had me foaming at the mouth - now that I've seen this forum and thread I truly don't give a toss - they aren't getting a penny from me.
I just wanted to know truthfully how clearly did others notice that it was a yearly thing ???0 -

Once I've responded to their court claim I'll update you on something involving this point - it renders their contract totally unenforceable by law.0 -
I'm in the same boat as other posters. Really glad I found this thread so I know I'm not alone, but I am worried that Legalcare seems to be so unyielding and heartless. I will be arguing as far as I can but looking forward to other posters replies too..0

I had a look around on the internet and found that when purchasing online there should be a 7 day cooling off period in which you are free to cancel..... not sure if this is from the date of signing up or the date of being charged, because technically you haven't purchased anything until they take that first payment...?0

You've missed the bit about "provided you haven't started to use the service".0

This from the PAYPAL receipt: "To change or cancel your agreement with Aska Professional Ltd, log in to your PayPal account at Paypal go to your Profile, and click My money. Then in the "My pre-approved payments" section, update the agreement. is how they have caught so many of us in their trap. And whether they have the law on side or not it is unethical to try to trap people into paying money they can not afford for services they do not want and will not use. I for one am not going to let them keep intimidating me.. I have complained to PAYPAL0

Can you take a screenshot of this please? I can no longer log in to the FecalCare website!0 -
I believe that they are relying on us all not having access to legal advice or we would not have needed them on the first place. I would rather pay double the sum asked for fighting them than pay them. I have contacted the BBC watchdog, and office of fair trading, I will speak to the CAB and if all else fails pay the family solicitor. If they had replied to my please with sympathy and explained how they could be worth the money I would not be so angry but I have been intimidated, stressed and have had sleepless nights. This harassment by them must be illegal in itself?!0

I spoke to the Office of Fair Trading the other day actually - they said if enough people submit a WRITTEN complaint about the company, they can act.

I'd probably be as concise as possible, but make sure to highlight the key issues.0
