I don't know anything about faith healers but things like homeopathy, which have no scientific reason to work, have actually been proven to be effective. It's very interesting.

No they haven't. Homoeopathy publish cherry picked parts of reports that are laughable in scientific terms. It's a laughing stock, not interesting.

It does appear that homeopathy is just an expensive placebo (quackery). Then again if you have faith in it - the power of the mind could take over.

I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole but homeopaths and faith healers wouldn't make much money if the world was full of grizzled old cynics like me. :cool:

As I say, scientifically there is absolutely no reason why homeopathy should work. But it has been tested, including on animals and babies and children, (meaning it can't simply be the placebo effect) and it has been shown to work.

I have to take issue with you. It may have been tested but there is no proof that it works other than as a placebo with humans. Nor are there any conclusive studies of it working on animals. It would appear that, as far as I can see, there is no scientific basis for homeopathy.

No it hasn't. What you've been reading is marketing idiocy passed off as scientific research. There isn't one proper scientific journal that backs up a single claim.

I haven't 'been reading' anything recently. But I do know people who practice it and use it. So anecdotal evidence suggests it does indeed work, and that for me is the main thing. It works. Even if 'science' says it can't or doesn't. Remember, science has proved that bees cannot fly!

No wonder you feel odd. I can imagine it was a very intense and emotionally powerful experience – anything similar would leave you feeling terrible.
I can understand why desperate people who are terminally ill seek these people out – it’s sad but if it makes them feel they’ve exhausted all options and possibly obtain some benefit from it then so be it. But you went for a laugh and are now taking it seriously. Tread carefully and keep your wits about you.
Personally, I would tell her thanks but no thanks for her other 2 sessions; treat myself to some good nutritious food, some gym sessions, some early nights with a book and some late nights with good friends. It’ll heal you quicker physically and spiritually than anything this woman can offer you.
