Do you do the London to Sydney challenge every month? Think i'm too late to join in that one this month, but would love to do it next month!

Hi and welcome to the thread.

We do a different challenge each month, sometimes it's distance or climbing a mountain or like this month it's a time challenge.

You're welcome to join in this month's challenge - you could aim to do half way (10hrs 45 mins) as it's half way through the month?

Last night I managed to get my OH to make room for my treadmill so hope to get walking on that today did I read somewhere about a DVD to use? could somebody post the details please as I get really bored on the treadmill.

Have a good day everyone :)

We've been talking about Leslie Sansone who's has done many "walking" DVDs but they're not for a treadmill. They're more like walking on the spot with lots of knee raises, side steps and depending on the length of the "walk" and difficulty some have some jogging in them, others have weight work. They don't sound too hard, but they do give you a good workout.

Take a look on youtube for her - some of the 1 and 2 mile workouts are on there whole, and there are clips of the longer workouts (3, 4 and 5 miles). It will give you an idea of whether it's the sort of thing you like before you buy any.

Had my first session at the gym yesterday evening; it was so busy I couldn't get near most of the machines. Did 20 minutes cardio on the bike and treadmill, then had a swim; I can feel it in my legs. I shall be there when they open at 6.30 this morning so I can do a proper weights session without all the crowds. Early mornings are definitely best for me - I'm bursting with energy then.

Good time at the gym this morning. I've had a brainwave - I'm a huge fan of The Walking Dead, so on Monday I'll ask the personal trainer to devise a fitness programme to help me survive the zombie apocalypse - intense cardio for running away, agility to dodge them coming at me unexpectedly, and upper body and core functional training to stake them through the head.

    Sorry I'm late this week. I'm -2 :j

    I also did 2.5 hours (2hrs10 on cross-trainer plus one 20min shred DVD session. I did day 1 again:o).

I have eaten pretty badly this week so the -2 is despite that and I'm just glad I lost something!

1.5lb lost for me, not bad after a weekend that involved eating out three times.
