Also, the new scales do seem to weigh a good 2 to 3lb above other scales, but I have no idea how to check?

How about weighing something (your gym bag?) at the gym, and then again at home, without changing the contents at all, for a comparison. It doesn't really matter though, as it's more important to see a downward trend on the same scales than have an accurate weight.

Thanks Jess. I have an added incentive. Before taking the challenge to lose weight I took a bet with William Hill at 50/1 x £50 that I would lose 5 stone by 24/12/2014.

So if I lose the remaining 58 pounds then I'll get £2,500.

    :T

Wow, I had no idea you could do this! Five stone in a year is a tough challenge though. Although you're off to a good start!

    I'm down 1.2lbs this week.

+ 2lbs since last week. Was doing okay with the exercise and food choices but yesterday had a "big overeat". So not a good thing in some ways although expect the weight gain to be temporary.
  • I am happy to report a 3lb Lossthis week.
And can I log 360 minutes walking on the treadmill Thank you :A

stebiz - Wow that is some incentive  great idea and best of luck to you

Rubyslippers77 - I agree with what Svenena said I would weigh something at the gym and then bring it home and put it on your scales and note the difference. Then go somewhere in between ;)

Fredsnail - thanks for the info

Good luck everyone with the weigh-in's :T

Is this just a simple case of asking? I'd love to do something like that. (edit: I'm an infrequent user and this thread moves fast so PM me any info if you would please! Cheers)

I'm not in this club but I'm -11lb for the year, 89lb to go! And that's with only little exercise, most of it is through changing eating habits of portion size and better food. If anyone is at a bit of a lull I'd say i) point to this because if I can do it then anyone can and ii) much like the downshift challenge elsewhere, do a downsize, have one less 'thing' potato/packet crisps/biscuit/whatever.

In 2010 I did lose about 7 stone which was 1/3 of my weight, but it was too quick I think. It all came back on, but with a bit more time and thought and planning I could do something similar.

(I daren't watch My Baggy Body from the other night!) *sigh*

Amazing, I didn't know you could do that! How do you prove it? Do you have to weigh in with someone and get them to verify??
