  • -1lb off this week! :) Daily walks in my lunch break are working!
  • Well done everyone on your weight loss!! I've done stacks of walking and other exercise this week, so let's hope that will be reflected in my Wednesday morning weigh in. I was hoping the new scales would be a good luck charm, but not so far......

In the meantime I'm coughing like someone with a 60 a day habit and craving sweet things for my sore throat. A couple of squares of dark chocolate has done the trick so far but what I really want to do is dive into a big pile of KitKats!

I'm really struggling. I keep ruining my progress by binging. I just don't seem to be getting anywhere. For nearly 6 months I've been bouncing around between 13-10 and 14-7. Every time it gets down to the bottom of that, I binge, gain a couple of pounds then feel like crap and keep on eating til the top end when I suddenly feel huge and start dieting again. It means I've wasted ages and if I'd just been sensible I'd be approaching target now. Is anyone else a chronic binger?

I can be if I'm tired and dehydrated.

I find that if I'm tired my will power goes out of the window so I try not to buy anything bad so if I'm tired it's harder for me to get bad stuff.

I've been recycling the same 20lbs for the past decade. I need to lose far more than 20lbs to be healthy though; I need to lose about 4.5 - 5 stone really. This time I feel it's within my grasp.

I wouldn't describe myself as a binger, but previous attempts at weight loss have been foiled when I've blown the diet for a couple of days (due to a special occasion or something), then not been able to get back on it, because I've wanted to avoid the scales, and therefore lost the accountability.

For me, that's really the challenge I'm determined to overcome this time. When a day (or a few days) come of overeating, I'm going to try my hardest to not see it as a setback, and continue as though it hadn't happened. Even if I've gained a few pounds, I'm going to remind myself that it's better to have to re-lose a couple of pounds than go all the way back up and be back at the top again. That's the plan, anyway!

I've had a similar pattern to you of bouncing between a certain weight range, and I really want to break through the bottom of it this time!
  • Thank you all for the replies. I definitely need to overcome this, especially as I'm close to the bottom of my usual range so with increased commitment I can break through and start making some serious head way.
