Thanks Debrac :)do you know if going up and then back down the stairs counts as 2 flights or just one?
Reckon I'll be saving for new stair carpet after this challenge ;) lol

I think it's just climbing up that counts, (but please someone correct me if I'm wrong)

    Good luck with it :j

    Hi Donna,

    Welcome to the thread.

Yes as it's a climb up Everest only the climb up the stairs count.

If it's easier for you to log the stair climbs daily that's fine - post them daily or whenever suits you and I'll log them for you - just make sure you don't double post any day, otherwise post the weekly total before Wednesday evening.

ok thanks for clearing that up Debrac :) are you doing the Everest challenge ?

Just done the maths and realised how many times I'm going to have to climb the stairs each day  Any top tips anyone? Fredsnail? So far Ive been doing the odd 3/5 minutes of continuous climbing when I get chance, plus i'm splitting jobs up - so instead of taking a pile of stuff up the stairs in one go, I'm going up and down with just 1 or 2 things each time, and also going up and down while i'm waiting for eg the kettle to boil. Any other ideas gratefully received please :)

Well done TQ, that's a fab loss! :j

Donna, I think you've got some good ideas already so not sure if I can add much, lol. I always used to stop fast forwarding adverts when watching TV and see how many flights I could get through in the breaks, and whenever I'd nip upstairs through the day, I'd always do at least 2 or 3 flights rather than just the one.

Well I've decided to go for a different approach with Everest this time. I've decided to try and do the entire climb on the free step programme on the wii fit! I need to try and get myself back into it as it's really easy exercise, and I can catch up on my soaps while I do it! Not worked it out yet so it may be a bit far fetched, lol, but I've got this which will help!
I still need to measure it properly, but it adds about 3" to the height which will help a lot in this challenge! Definitely going to start tonight. It was supposed to be last night but by the time I sat down it was nearly 11pm!

Ad breaks are a good idea - Thanks Lolly101 :) good luck with the challenge!
Did you manage to complete it last time? I think I might be being a bit ambitious but I guess even if I don't get to the top lol it's all still extra exercise :) - talking of which , going to hang out some more washing then do few more flights before I'm onto next thing on my to-do list
