Hi All,

I thought it would be interesting to see how our situation changes between now and the end of the year and what we would like to happen?

For me the following would be great:

1. Get a new and improved job, not just from a financial aspect but to do something I love.

2. Meet that someone special and establish a serious relationship.

3. Use my free time more productively especially at the weekends, less time spent on Facebook etc and more time doing activities.

4. Travel more, weekedn breaks and at least 1 holiday abroad.

5. Continue improving physical and mental health.

What ar your hopes? Anyone can add to this thread up until the end of March and then we'll all look back at it in December and hopefully it will prove to be a fruitful year for us all.

Just to be happy and healthy and for my family to prosper and have a bit of free spending money to have some fun days out here and there, that will do me:D

    4. Travel more.
These two are too vague to be able to assess properly in December IMO: what would make you feel you were using your time more productively: what evidence would you need to see?
Travel more - do you want to see more places abroad or in UK, and are you talking weekends away or weeks/months away?
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

    Good idea!

    For me :-

Get renovations on house finished, i.e have a 100% completed house.

Hope not to have to move but if the right house comes up we will go for it.

Manage to deal with a marathon month long visit from inlaws, need to bite my tongue and maintain dignity. It will be hard.

Try and fit in a week long holiday with family but is unlikely given the 3 factors above.

I've started up a very small business and hope to keep that going. It might be good for me to go on a book keeping course.
  • Good idea.

    Mine would be

    1. To pass my driving test

    2. To pay off all debts

    3. To have at least one interview for a new job (I'm not very confident in putting myself out there) or, failing that, get a promotion at work.

    4. To still have the people in my life that I do now.

Get more of the house DIY completed. Primarily finish anything that is currently unfinished.

By December I will be married and hopefully on a beach somewhere warm and sunny so I would hope to be on top of the world and looking forward to Christmas.

    For me my aims are:

    1) Have £5,000 in savings
    2) Be in a position to take December and January '14 as an extended holiday
    3) Finish the year 15% up on 2012's business turnover
    4) Have replaced my settee, washing machine and bedroom furniture.

    :)

Fab idea for a thread OP :)

    Good thread. Mine are:

    1. Selling the business

    2. Getting the living room and kitchen re decorated

    3. Have some time off being a housewife, I've never not worked.

    Happy moneysaving all.

Difficult one for me to answer as I'm unsure as to which direction I will go in during the following year - I may become a SAHM, or I might take a different job, but only if the right one comes along.

If I stay at home, then I want to have:
-Identified and started on a rewarding voluntary career
-Work on my patience with the children, and make sure I enjoy the the time I spend with them, specifically work out how to deal with their mess without it driving me crazy
    - Be more organised about school trips/events/mufti days/plays/assemblies etc so that I can be one of the calm, smug mums, rather than being the one who has to cancel important meetings at the last minute to attend, or who rushes in at the last minute because my train was running late etc
-re-cover the sofas in the living room
-redecorate living room/dining room and dowstairs hallway, recarpet (with DH's help) dds bedroom

If I decide to get a different job, I want to:

-settle into a new job, with a good work life balance
-get the ball rolling on either a large extension or put the house on the market to move to a bigger house
-Work on my patience with the children, and make sure I enjoy the the time I spend with them, specifically work out how to deal with their mess without it driving me crazy
