1.Overcome my agoraphobia (or at least be able to leave the house comfortably)
2.Finish the garden (already threatened OH with divorce if its not done this year)
    3.Stretch my brain (contemplating OU)

Well the agorophobia is being worked on...on meds and seeing a therapist.
The garden is practically complete (just a patio to be built but that will have to wait til spring).

Tried to find a new hobby to stretch my brain a bit...learning how to crochet and play my guitar

Nice idea. My goals are pretty clear to me

    1) Be at 9 months in remission from cervical cancer - hopefully getting the all clear in a few weeks.
Achieved this one! Still ongoing problems from complications of the surgery, but no more cancer. A great result compared to the start of the year

    2) Have tried at least one cycle of IVF. I'd love to say 'be pregnant', but that's tempting fate a little.
Not quite. Tried a cycle, but it wasn't completed due to the complications mentioned above. But really positive for the new year
    3) Have a real plan for moving back to Australia in either 2014 or 2015.
Visa application processing. Plan is moving forward nicely
    4) Be less stressed. Hopefully offically moved to working 4 days a week
Definately less stressed most of the time. Working 5 days, but one at home which has been a perfect compromise.
    5) BMI below 30.
It has been! Probably 30.5 as of today, but I can live with that.
    6) Swapped the silly door we have for a window.
    Nope. Changed my mind instead

I think I can realistically achieve 1, 2 and 6 - and will try to do the others!

Pretty pleased with that actually. Good idea to do this thread. Nice to look back and see you have achieved something, even when it can feel you've achieved nothing all year

  • 2013 was a good year for me but improvements to be made in 2014.

    1. Get a new and improved job, not just from a financial aspect but to do something I love.

Acheived, I'm with a new company and in a much better paid role.

    2. Meet that someone special and establish a serious relationship.

Failed but I did try and met two decent people, neither of whom were right for me though.

    3. Use my free time more productively especially at the weekends, less time spent on Facebook etc and more time doing activities.

    Failed

    4. Travel more, weekedend breaks and at least 1 holiday abroad.

Failed, too busy due to new job.

    5. Continue improving physical and mental health.

I'm in a much better mental state.

How have I never seen this thread before?? I've got a few I can think about for the last 5 and a bit months:
    1) To have some idea about what I want to do job wise - by the end of the year I'll know if I'm being made redundant, and if not I know it's only a maximum 2 years until the firm moves down to Cambridge so I have to look ahead for something new Goalposts have changed, may be a chance of staying but have to weigh up financial implications of staying with a small location move that means an eatra hour a day driving v a decent redundancy payout
    2) To have lost at least a stone from where I am now Done :) but then put a few back on over Christmas
    3) To have got back blogging - if I do that it will have meant I'm actually DOING more and not just sitting at the pc Finally got back to it very recently
    4) To have got a more relaxed attitude to my eldest son who has just finished uni and hasn't got a clue what he wants to do Having more civilised conversations with him now :)
    5) To have got some semblance of order into my house and desk at work (may come sooner if I am made redundant!) House much better, desk is work in progress!
    6) To have booked my 2014 holiday - going for a cruise for my 50th birthday Booked - 12 days in the Adriatic :)
    7) To be clear of hospitals and doctors - currently waiting on kidney stone treatment Scan in 2 weeks will hopefully confirm stones gone - fingers crossed
