Make sure you do not have a line infection...One nearly killed me...After that i was so sure of the hygiene system from the nurses when they did my line.
Your Having a bad time and i really wish you well.....Treat yourself...

Also my district nurses went on a hickman line course and did me at home every day with iv antibiotics.See if you can get that...
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Well all my bloods came back clear. I've had 3 days of iv antibiotics and have the rest of a course of oral ones to finish. No infection found so must have been a blip. At least I've had a weeks holiday from chemo though :)

    Back to it on Wednesday.

    Hi Elise
Just caught up with this thread again.
I was diagnosed @ same time as you, had chemo first. Had mastectomy and lymph nodes out March 25th. Still recovering from that, had a lot of fluid build up which had to be drained, seems to have stopped now. Hurrah. I didn't have implant done with the MX, as they told me radiation would damage it. Also had non skin saving MX so am very flat down there.
Had first appt with radiology this week, not healed enough yet to start. They say should be able to start Rads now in 5 weeks.
Chemo was awful, but starting to fade away the bad memories now. My hair is growing back, few mm now, soft and fuzzy. Looks dark, whereas I was mousey fine and limp before. But any hair is better than no hair!
Still having some down days. Starting to realise that life will nevr be the same again. I look different - at least 10 years older, and still got no energy and walk like an 80 year old.
Really feel for you still on the chemo. But its great you can go as day patient for IV antibiotics. I was admitted two times, 8 days each, for infections, high temp, which they never found a cause for.
Try to enjoy the weekend, get out for bit of fresh air. And eat whatever you feel like - time to worry about diets when the treatment is over!
    Hugs to you

Well chemo 5 is done. Feeling really nauseous this time and I'm up to my limit on meds for now. Bleurgh! Got a bad feeling about this one as I felt so good up until this afternoon with the weeks break.

I'm starting rads 4 weeks after last chemo so I'll be back at work in the mornings when it starts. Have to have a scan and dots tattooed on first. Eeep: tattoos :(

My stubble is white and I was a gorgeous chestnut brown before :'(. I've been enjoying the sun though and my scalp is no longer pale :)

So ups and downs and at least I have morphine for the pain this time around, just need to remember to take anti-nausea 20 mins before I take it.

Thanks for the words of support everyone :D

I haven't been working while on chemo. Lol. That would be too much! But back as soon as I have the go ahead, which is looking like the 18th June, when I have my official BTW interview with HR and my manager. I miss it so much!

So far so good apart from nausea last night. Dreaded jabs starting again today so from next Wednesday I'll be getting the crushing bone pain, but this time around I have morphine to help :)

I think I'm really coping so well because of my support from my OH. Such a shame we got the bad news 4 days after we got wed:( We're still living separately but are looking for a bigger house to buy together now so we can fit our lives in comfortably. I have my DS1 moving out 1 T-shirt at a time & he will be gone by October (sniffle). Ds2 is 13 this month & is kicking off because big houses we can afford are in Coventry & he doesn't want to change school, but he may be able to come in on the train with me to work.

Busy making plans for a 2 week break to Greece in August but I have to be 1 month clear of treatment to get insurance so can't book until I'm all done. Found 2 weeks b& b for just under £700 each so hopefully it won't get booked up.

You can tell the chemo hasn't kicked in yet? This time next week, I'll be a moany old cow again. Lol.

I wish you all the best but I just wanted to suggest that, if you're going on holiday so soon after finishing treatment, Greece might not be the best choice. I believe that the health care system there never was the best in the world and since their recent economic problems, things have become even more difficult.

I don't want to scaremonger but, as the wife of someone with a severe and chronic health condition, I tend to be more aware of this sort of thing.

Good luck, whatever you decide to do.

Hey Elise, don't worry about the tattoos. They're just tiny dots, as big as a pin pr1ck.

    All the best. x

Still feeling strangely ok. Even still drinking coffee. Weird? Usually cr@ pped out by now. Only thing is my sense of smell is a bit off. Just keep smelling chemicals: gross. Not tired and sleeping okay for a change. It'll probably hit me soon though, so am on tenterhooks.

Had my first lot of Filigestin yesterday so that'll filter through in the next few days as well. Next lot tonight. Sigh.
