Dear SA
I hope you have made it to the pantomine, and have been able to relax and enjoy a few hours of fun.
All the things you are describing, internet shopping, taxis, are all things faced by people with limited disability everyday and as such are "hidden costs of disability". Alongside the hidden struggles of achieving doing things every day. You are doing so well, take care, slow down, turn a blind eye if you can, and do those exercises so you are back to full strength in 2017 ( including lifting an occasional glass of vino). As a dear MSE friend says “keep plodding” or

Thanks all.
We had a fab time at the panto. It was really good, well worth the expense and effort. Even Mr SA enjoyed it. Went for lunch beforehand and had cocktails 2 for the price of 1. Theatre staff great, got me a chair to rest leg on. Mr SA just about coped with pushing me in wheelchair, a bit scary at times, he was a bit all over the place, but we made it.
Shame about when we got home though, he has been very selfish. I cooked the dinner (only pizza and salad) but he was reluctant to help. I thought what if I just said I'm not doing it, what would happen then? He wouldn't even light the candles tonight because he reckons I've ruined Christmas by going back to work tomorrow. Well I say at least I will be cared for at work. Unbelievable!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Oh no to Mr SA's attitude last night, glad you enjoyed the panto and lunch out.
Hope work is ok and you're getting looked after xxMummytogirls x0 -

Back at work today. Not sure I made the right decision. It was hard. Not the work, or people, but the sheer effort of getting from A to B. My leg is throbbing tonight. Everyone thinks I'm mad to go back so soon.
Got home and there were stains on the floor from Mr SA's spilt coffee, kitchen was a mess and Mr SA had done nothing. When I got home in taxi he was outside putting stuff in the bin, although the taxi pulled up right outside he didn't even notice me and just went back in leaving me to struggle down the drive. Then his keys were in the other side of the door and I had to knock to get in.
Back to hospital tomorrow. Going to tell them how much this new cast is irritating my skin, it's so sore on the shin area. Was going to try and put a dressing underneath the plaster where it's rubbing but need the dressing tape to secure the bandage which is on a shelf too high for me to reach. Mr SA said he would get it for me but he hasn't. So will have to endure until tomorrow afternoon.
