Price of ticket would've been a lot cheaper if I could fix journey time coming back but I can't as can't be certain what time things will finish and if I left a bit later I could've gone first class for less but I can't - so they've got you over a barrel.
Today I babysat GD while parents took Mr SA to B&Q. He bought the most hideous solar powered bird garden ornament you have ever seen. He also embarrassed me when we went to town for the obligatory coffee this morning - we went in Debenhams so he could have a squirt of perfume - he got the assistant looking all over for a male fragrance that doesn't exist - "Calvin Klein Sexy Beast". That's what he asked for. Still cringing now!!!!!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Morning SA.
The sexy beast comment is quite funny, loads of people must forget names of perfumes etc. I can imagine how it must be difficult it must be though, to know he wouldn't have done that before. XXXXX
how is the itching today? It must be stress related you have been carrying all this for so long.
(I Love Brendan O'Carroll - he is on tv and SO funny)
Back on focus, how long till your next holiday? and what are the plans for today?

Hi Buffy
Holiday is 2 weeks on Thursday - really ready for it. Still itchy today. Some of it must be down to stress as I get so much carp thrown at me. I didn't get any stress at work until recently. At some stage need to consider whether to start looking for another job. Been there 14 years, it's changed for the worse (why does everything change for the worse?) maybe it's time to move on.
Have done a tot up of finances and debt total has gone back over £2k temporarily until next week.
Tesco card £114.36
M&S card £42.00
Barclaycard £180.00 (this will be paid off next Monday)
Halifax £1765.00
Total = £2101.36
There are a couple more bits to add to Tesco card so it will go up a bit more by the end of the week. Totally lost the plot with it this week. But at least I'm keeping my eye on it and after payday it will have gone well under £2k and stay there. Still on track to be debt free by end November. Then it's time to get on track with the budget for once and for all and try to build up some savings. By keeping close tabs on the card totals I can see where I need to allow money in the budget for the weekend town trips. I know I'm trying to be too tight with my budget to pay off debt but I can't do everything with my limited budget.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Finally found some time to update and to catch up on other diaries! This week has been manic and as if it isn't bad enough being watched at work, Mr SA has taken to asking me what I'm doing every time I so much as look at my iPad. But can you believe I left Mr SA fast asleep this morning, sat downstairs with a drink, navigated to MSE and he started shouting me! He didn't know where he was he said.
I've woke up with a raging sore throat this morning - great just what I want at the weekend. We're going on the train this morning to see DS and co in their new house. If I hadn't already bought the tickets I think I'd cancel I feel so rough.
Had a fab day in London on Tuesday and managed not to get too lost. No time for shopping though but just as well as I'm skint until next Tuesday.
Debt total has gone up again since the last tot up as some more has gone on Tesco card. Mr SA has ignored what I said about not buying anything until payday and has been spending in B&Q and a garden centre when he went out with his carer. He blames it on his brain damage, he can't remember what I tell him - how convenient!
Work has been ok this week.
Will be back later with debt total update. Off to catch up with other diaries now.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Sorry you feel rough, hope it disappears soon.
Glad London was fun, but boo to running out of time. Even window shopping would have been nice! Hope you got to relax on the train as planned.
Oh dear re Mr SA and his spending habits. I think you need to talk to the carer too if he is 'forgetting' what you ask of him.
Have a lovely day with the family XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Hello Lucky and Beanie
I'd like to take the card off him but it causes too many arguments. I've tried it before to no avail. Despite how ill he was when he was in hospital last year he always asked for his card back. And he never forgot the pin. I forget the pin after a week's non use!!! The only thing I can do is keep hammering home not to use it before running it past me first. Once the debt has been paid off money won't be so tight. Only 3 paydays to go then it'll be gone. Mr SA doesn't know about it (well he did know last year before he got ill but it would be too difficult to explain to him now) so at least he won't think it's a free for all when it's paid off.
Had a nice day at DS's, they've got a lovely little house. Felt slightly sad as it reminded me of us when we first started out and I thought where did the time go. They were happy days now just a memory. Can I just say that if anyone reading this is having trouble with their teenage son, my DS was a pain from age 15 - drinking, smoking, staying out late, girls, in with a bad crowd, etc. he and the "bad crowd" are now all normal adults with jobs, homes and families. DS has even moaned about kids roaming around the streets when he was once one of them. They turn out fine in the end.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -

Thank you for this :T:T:T:T:T. I have an 18 year old godson - who has dropped out of college. He wanted to be a criminal barrister - but is anti establishment re education and thought he could learn enough in school and not do any homework . He's currently doing 3 days a week in Tesco - he also feels a general CV is sufficient and rebels at filling in job application forms. His parents are totally frustrated but not singing from the same hymn sheet (Dad wants to say leave when he moans about home life ....Mum still does the washing and doesn't charge him any housekeeping - wants him to change mind and know they will support him through education) so I look on in despair ( i think he should be paying HK and learning about living in the real world) and hope the lightbulb moment comes on.
Sorry long post.....it's lovely to hear what I just keep saying to friend it comes right in the end

Can I just add that ,my DS was 21 this weekend.
I am so very blown away by the caring & compassionate young man he has become.

I can certainly vouch for the fact they do come out the other side.
My DD was horrendous from 14 to 18, taking risks with her safety and awful to be around. She often says now that she doesn't know how she made it through alive, either by her reckless actions or through me murdering her! She is such a delightful responsible young lady now, I know I did a good job raising her.
My DS had different problems through his teens and dropped out of college thinking he knew it all. Despite the severe lack of male role models in his life he is the most amazing father & husband. It makes my day seeing him with his family.
So yes, despite those difficult years they do come through it x
Could you perhaps swap OHs card for a prepaid credit card, put an allowance on it and a little buffer so he can only spend what you are happy with. I know it must be incredibly difficult and you really want to make up for the other hardships he's facing. XTargets
