So sorry work is tough right now, it's always worse when you are under the weather a bit. Focus on the positives, those 4 weeks will fly and you'll soon be sunning, (ha, ha typed sinning then by mistake), yourself. Remind yourself that putting up with that daily grind is getting you one step closer to the sun.

Hope you feel better soon x

  • I am !!!!ed off about your work on your behalf.

I know what you mean about spending 8 hours there and not enjoying it.

    Ditto Granny's wise words.. :)

Do you think it's possible that your manager wants to ensure someone else can fill-in for you, when you're not at work?
Would have been polite to let you know if such is the case, but makes sense.

    Health-wise, are you anaemic?

Re MrSA - could his carer take him swimming regularly? Maybe a buoyancy aid would reassure MrSA that he'd be safe, just in case (we've got some for canoeing which are compact but effective; wouldn't get in the way of swimming).

    Thanks all.

Well my eyes are all swollen up, runny and itchy again today. Looks like the allergy is back :(

Manager had a word with me today and the upshot is they think I'm getting bogged down, we've had loads of new people join our office and another me is needed or it's going to be a nightmare. So looks like work related issues might be improving. Watch this space!

Sorry you are suffering still - sounds like maybe more time off would be sensible.

That is great about work, pity boss didn't think to explain that to you immediately, instead of letting you stress over it.

Hope you manage to get a restful weekend.

Feeling calmer work wise tonight. Really wish I could be the sort of person who can just say as long as I'm getting paid who cares but I'm not like that. I'm way too much of a perfectionist for my own good.

Mr SA not at his best today. He did an hour's gardening - can't actually see much difference to be honest and there is more of the garden inside the house by the looks of it! Leaves everywhere! Now he is stiff and his mobility is shot to pieces. He looked really weird around his face and I started thinking along the lines of a stroke but he was able to raise his arms and just now, although he struggled to get up off the sofa, he seems ok. I think he's done too much for his capabilities. He's fed up with himself he says.

My eye swelling has gone down a bit thank goodness. Still itchy though. I have to go back to GP next week for check up and I think I need to press for patch testing. I am very obviously allergic to something.

Was really fed up this morning when I struggled to zip up trousers. Did it eventually but felt uncomfortable all day. I am thinking of looking for a WW meeting to go to as I need the fear of being weighed in public to motivate me I think. Annoying thing is I only need to lose a few pounds so why is it so hard? I've been walking to and from work all week, doing around 18,000 steps a day but not done the 7 minute workout thing.

By the way Robin I don't know if I'm anaemic, haven't been tested for years when I was told I had very high iron levels despite being a vegetarian.

Another thing, I had a call from a PPI claim place yesterday, caught me unawares. I've never taken out PPI but they reckon it could've been embedded in the APR of the van loan I've just finished paying off. They seem to think I could claim something back. Nearly told them to clear off but then I thought if they think they can get me something let them try. I doubt very much anything will come of it. I know if I was entitled to claim anything I should do it myself but I seriously don't think anything is due. So they're welcome to try.

10 day mini challenge finishes Monday. Off to bed now, yawn.

    'Morning Sun.A, :hello:

Hope both you and MrSA got a decent night's sleep, and feel a bit brighter today. :)

I was wondering whether stress + possible anaemia may be exacerbating your skin problem? Steroid cream will mask symptoms for a while, but it's not a cure.

Hope your GP refers you for patch-testing to look for triggers, and thinks it's worth checking bloods.
Good luck - fingers crossed that GP listens you to!

Better news re work; hope you are reassured. :)

Having an itchy weekend so far. Driving me mad :(

Managed to win the coffee battle with Mr SA yesterday morning and took the dog out, did the cleaning up and after lunch DS and GF brought GD round. They've just moved into their new home and wanted to go shopping for a few bits so we went with them as Mr SA wanted to get some pebbles for a project he's got on in the garden. As soon as we got out of the car he spotted Costa and started wandering towards it. Steered him away into the shops. There was a coffee shop inside one of the shops which he wanted to go in but DS said not yet. He started sulking so after we'd finished shopping I ended up buying us all a coffee.

As, according to Mr SA, the coffee yesterday didn't count, we have been out for coffee today, he's cadged two pairs of canvas shoes and we've had lunch out too "to save me cooking".

I've been doing some calculations and if I extend my 100 day challenge to November payday I'll be able to pay all the debt off without having to scrimp too much. Challenge should finish 25 November and payday is 28 November so only 3 days after.

The weight loss challenge is proving more difficult. I'm going to try keeping a record of what I eat to see if that helps. I wouldn't mind if I was stuffing myself with food and lounging about but I'm not. What with the itching and feeling uncomfortable in my clothes I feel really fed up in this department.

I've made a huge slow cooker full of vegetable stew for my work lunches, which I spent ages chopping up this morning so I could set it cooking before we went out and annoyingly I forgot to switch on. Aagh! It's on now though so should be done by tonight.

What a week! Have had rubbish time at work - some snitch tried to make out I was taking too long lunchbreaks, as we are on flexi time this is not possible! By the way if I get 30 minutes most days I'm doing well. I think I know who it is and they have picked on the wrong person. They made trouble for me with my manager - grr. Why do people do this, have they no work to be getting on with? Our office was a really relaxed one until we got 2 new managers who are trying to make a name for themselves - well they are but not the sort of name they had in mind!

On the plus side I'm going to London on Tuesday as I've been nominated to attend a ceremony for people who have gone the extra mile for work. So one nil to me versus the snitch! It's because I maintained high standards and commitment despite adverse personal circumstances. Looking forward to it but scared in a way because I don't know London at all. Have factored in the time to see a few sights though.

Mr SA has had a fall tonight and hurt his head. It's not stopping him watching TV though so maybe not as bad as he thinks. Took me ages to get him up off the floor - he has put on far too much weight.

Went to doctors yesterday and I'm being referred for allergy testing.

    What a week!

What will happen to Mr SA while you are away? Is it an overnight stay? Xx
