Yes that's right Robin, by breaking the skin bacteria has got in :(. We're going to go for the meal and see how things go from there. We can always gets taxi home early if need be as venue is only 3 miles away. Eczema not contagious but need to be careful with Mr SA and my "pustules" as they are infected. Although doc says he should be ok, just a precaution really. Fed up :(

Doc says MrSA should be ok - fine.
..But what about anyone else at the restaurant who has a damaged immune system? They won't even get a warning of the risk to their health!
That is what I meant by: "Is it fair to go?" :(

Sorry. Hit a nerve there - it's happened far too many times to those I care about - will get off the soapbox now. :o

Hope you and MrSA enjoyed yourselves last night and you're now on the mend (and also that no other health-compromised attendees are brewing your infection today!).

    Good morning folks

We went out but didn't stay all night. Just sat in a dark corner enjoying the food and music for a couple of hours. Wore a maxi dress with high neckline and cardigan on top so I was well covered up.

I'm not contagious to anyone else Robin. The doc just pointed out that it would be best to not let the infected skin touch Mr SA just to be on the safe side. We don't share towels anyway. I can't pass it on to anyone else. Well maybe if I rubbed my skin on someone and they had skin problems too but then I wasn't planning on doing that :) I never moved from the table not even to use the loo.

Feel really sore still today and a bit sorry for myself. Got to go to GP tomorrow and not be fobbed off by receptionist who told me on Friday not to bother trying to get an appointment Tuesday as they would be too busy. Emergency doc said to tell them it's an emergency and I need to be seen by GP within 48 hours of Sunday. That's me ringing the surgery all morning! No plans to go to work tomorrow. At the moment I'm covered from head to foot in white cream.

It was last Monday I started the mini challenge part of my 100 day challenge so enthusiastically. Still doing it and intend to complete the paying off debt part of it. Not so sure if I'll have lost a pound though. What with my birthday celebrations and lack of exercise due to sore skin that bit is not looking promising.

Feel like my long awaited birthday/bank holiday weekend has been wasted.

  • Pick a date in a few weeks and do it all over again SA (minus the skin problem!). Xx

    Great idea Lucky :)

Looking at NHS website I have atopic eczema which is prone to infection. Sounds like and looks like (there are pics) just what I've got. The antibiotics I've got are the ones used for it. Can be caused by food allergy or other allergies. I've suffered with eczema most of my life with varying degrees of flare ups. It started getting worse last year when Mr SA first went into hospital. I know I should've gone to doctors with it then. At least I'm on the right path to getting it sorted now.

Mr SA moping about today because I don't want to go for coffee or pub lunch. I look and feel lousy. I'm going to spend the day relaxing with my feet up. Have just eaten 4 choc biccies, although WW ones so not too bad.

    Hello

Sending you belated birthday wishes, lots of hugs.

Hope you are being made lots of cuppas, have the biscuit tin near by, ( dieting can wait ) you need to feed the antibiotics ;):grouphug::grouphug:

My instinct says its stress, when I relax and feel fe is settling.... I always get a infection. It's that predictable now.

Hi Sun.A - am so sorry for my last post; spent all yesterday worrying in case you took it as a personal attack which wasn't intended.. Couldn't get back on-line to apologise until now.. :(

Anyway, great to read that you managed to avoid close contact with any strangers while still enjoying your night out - well done! :T

Does sound like you are allergic to something, doesn't it? Most likely a food but also worth thinking back to what you were doing before each flare-up (one of my cousins is allergic to a plant his Mum had in her garden; you know what happened every time he brushed against it while playing - took years and a house-move before his sister worked out what his trigger was. That was in the bad ol' days before allergy testing was available).

When you manage to get past the receptionist, it could be worth asking GP for a referral to have patch-testing done?

    Hello all

Robin don't worry at all there's no need. Honest :) Your input is always welcome.

I've been to my GP (finally!) and yes it's infected atopic eczema. Now I'm on steroids as well as antibiotics and antihistamine. Will rattle soon! Have been told off for trying to treat it myself in the past and I've now been "captured" by the doctor for monitoring of my condition. Still likely to be caused by a food/chemical allergy but stress can play a big part. Have to go back next week. No work this week either - have been ordered to rest. Mr SA has gone out with the carer for his coffee fix and to walk the dog. He's not been much help, yesterday he was either asleep or watching Top Gear. His answer to my request for help was to order a pizza last night to save me cooking!

Good news is doc says I'm not infectious I just look it!

Day 10 of my mini challenge so how did I do? Well I've paid off £277.34 of the debt so that bit has been a success. But put 1lb in weight on instead of losing it so failed miserably on that front. However I knew it wouldn't be a good week with all the meals out and 2 takeaways.

Spent a fortune on prescriptions and lotions over the last few days so spending card balance has gone up but will be cleared on Friday when I get paid. Need to keep on top of things. I must admit I'm totally lost without my spreadsheets that I keep on my work computer. I know roughly where I am but hate not knowing exactly.

Still suffering with the eczema and have been awake most of the night scratching. The sheet and my pillow are dotted with blood and Mr SA says that by the end of the week I'll have shed enough skin to build another me. On the plus side my eyes are lots better and not as swollen and I feel a bit better in myself. The doc said the steroids would kick in quite quickly. Mr SA has gone out with the carer, our dog and carer's 4 dogs so thankfully some peace and quiet for an hour or so. He's been no help at all if I'm honest.

Tomorrow I start mini 10 day challenge number 2. Goals are the same - lose 1lb and pay another £277.34 off debt. Both should be do-able. Losing weight part might be a challenge as I'm getting no exercise at the moment but I've got no appetite so I should take advantage of this. Debt wise I get paid on Friday, panicking with no spreadsheet access but I know roughly what's what and I know I'll be able to meet this part of the challenge.

Some good news in that the last instalment of Mr SA's van loan has gone out so that's £102 a month less in bills going out from next month onwards :)
