Looking for the silver lining

Thank you both. Still itching, still puffed up, sore and blotchy. I look absolutely terrible! Literally covered from head to foot in an angry red rash and my eyes have developed an extra eyelid. Not the look I wanted for my birthday celebrations. I'll be 54 tomorrow by the way Lucky. Got my nails done last night, the beauty therapist put some aloe vera gel on my face and eyes and it really did the trick of cooling them down. I'm going to pick some up today. I've usually got some in but must have used it up. At least my nails look nice if nothing else does!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

I know it doesn't help right now, but buy an aloe vera plant so that you'll have the gel ready whenever you need it. You just break a bit off and the sap that oozes out is the pure ingredient. I got a small plant for 99p at a charity event, and it's doubled in size in just over a year.
I hope you feel well enough to celebrate your birthday.
Birthday hugs and get well hugs for you.

Aw thank you all for your lovely thoughts and birthday wishes. I spent this morning back at the NHS walk in centre. Eyes swollen so bad when I got up and rash very sore. Been advised to shower in plain water, eat plain food and buy cetraben cream (liquid paraffin) until I see my GP. Cream seems quite good so far actually and not itching at the moment. It feels very soothing.
Went in town with Mr SA and he bought me a Thomas Sabo bracelet and 3 charms - the beaded not metal one. It's lovely and will look great when the rash has gone. We had lunch out and later on DS brought GD round. He wasn't to know but he bought me a load of smellies for the bath. I'll be able to use them at some stage hopefully. I've had the odd allergic reaction before but not this bad for a few years. One time on holiday a few years ago I ate something that made my lips swell up and I was really ill. Never found out for sure what it was but was thought to be food cooked in peanut oil.
Hoping to be better for tomorrow night as we have a table and meal booked for an Ibiza night with DJs and stuff at a local restaurant/bar. Been looking forward to it for ages.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
