Day 1 of 2nd mini challenge. Need to total up card balances before payday and make sure I'm paying off enough to clear everything by end November.

Mr SA not too good today. He was trying to be helpful and went to paper shop just a few doors away to get me The Mail but they didn't have it so he walked to a further away shop and came back in a right state, sweating and he didn't make it to the toilet in time. So I've been clearing the mess up :( His carer has just taken him for a coffee instead of dog walking. Dog is sulking. This happens often if he does too much, don't know why. Shop isn't far to a normal person (about a 10-15 minute walk) but too far for him. He's getting worked up about the results on Monday too so it may be partly stress related. He says his shunt feels full of fluid and it makes me wonder, if he didn't have it would he have had a seizure.

Even though we had a Mr M delivery yesterday we have had to have a small Mr T delivery today as I'd forgotten to order some things that I would've normally picked up at lunchtime had I been at work. Totally lose the plot when I'm off work! Really need to rein in the grocery spending, we're spending way too much.

Toying with the idea of You Need a Budget. I've seen on other threads where people use it and it sounds great. It's on free trial but then you have to pay for it. Not sure it would help me or not but I suppose I could cancel it after the trial if it didn't. Needs to be iPad friendly though as laptop is a pain to fire up.

Poor you SA with the eczema, do you think it could be stress related due to DH's appointment on Monday?

Ive suffered ezcema on and off over my life and ive never really found anything that works infact some things seem to make it worse... until last year. Someone recommended lush dream cream to me. Its £10 for a pot which is quite pricey compared to other moisturisers on the market but it is literally the only thing that worked. I was sceptical at first but it honestly worked! Might be an option if the other things dont work xx

Thanks MTG, I'm using aqueous cream at the moment and this horrible gunk prescribed by GP called emulsifying ointment. Still itchy and sore but can see some improvement now.

Mr SA still stressed and feeling sick. Nothing I say makes him feel better. However he's starting to make noises about coffee tomorrow or Sunday and pub lunches now my lurgy is improving.

Payday today and I've already met part 2 of my 10 day challenge debt wise. Paid £174 off Tesco card, £20 off Barclaycard, £30 off Halifax and cleared the M&S and Debenhams cards. Had a recalculation yesterday and I now have to pay £300 every 10 days to be debt free by the end of my challenge. Still do-able. Received £34 from Top Cash Back today so have put £30 of this towards part 3 10 day challenge. So ahead of myself at the moment. So today £300 has been paid off debt and I've also put £11.75 in my VSP.

    So:

    Tesco card £240.00
    M&S card £0
    Debenhams £0
    Barclaycard £330.00
    Halifax £1765.00

    Total £2335.00

    VSP £260.23

Now for the losing weight part of the challenge. Hoping for 2lbs off by a week tomorrow - did anyone see that pig flying past!

I've drawn out cash to last through the week, not including groceries. Got hairdressers tomorrow, just cut and blow dry so only about £24. Need a few toiletry bits like shampoo, conditioner and deodorant suitable for sensitive skin and slippers and dressing gown (Primark?) but the latter can wait until next week if need be. New grocery budget starts Wednesday when Mr SA's ESA goes in bank. Really really need to get a grip on this. Put in a Mr M order for next Wednesday. They are doing £10 off your third shop.

Took the dog on the park across the road but very self conscious as I look so awful at the minute. Trying to get a few bits done in the house, cleaning and tidying in between putting my feet up.

I can honestly say it's done me a world of good having this week off work and just resting. Could get used to it :)

Quick update before I go to bed - went to hairdressers today, her mum has same eczema as me and is allergic to a huge list of stuff including rubber and flour. Sigh. I feel rubbish again today and can't believe something as simple as eczema can make you feel so bad :(

Started out with £100 in my purse this morning but now only have £45!!!!! Where has it gone? Hair, few bits and bobs at local shops, wasting £2 on lotto ticket (not checked yet), lunch at local pub, need I go on...

Course of antibiotics and steroids finish tomorrow and I don't honestly feel that much better. Antihistamines are a month long course but can't honestly see what they're doing to say they are the strongest dose there is. Supposed to make me feel drowsy but they don't. Feel like I'm immune to medication :( fed up of scratching :( Look horrible :( Feel horrible :(

Then feel rotten because it's not a patch on what Mr SA has been/is still going through, only eczema not life threatening.

Tidied the garden a bit this afternoon. Mr SA found an old (and smelly!) rug in the shed and has put it in the greenhouse with a chair and declared it his den. [Raises eyebrows]

Goodnight all, hope all is ok with everyone.

  • Dodging the flying pigs to pop in and say hi!! Just caught up with the last few days and I'm sorry to read you are still suffering, but sad to see you do what I do and brush your own illness off as 'nothing compared to DH'. You are allowed to be poorly too and feel sorry for yourself.

Glad you got your hair done. Good luck for the results on Monday. Hugs Xx
