I can understand someone being miffed at being made redundant but as Beanie says there's no way that happened overnight. Either they've known for a while and therefore should have dealt with him in whatever time they had left or they have only just found out and therefore should still be helping him. Pfft indeed Lucky, definitely not good enough for a caring department.
Hope Mr SAs day off went well and you didn't spend the whole day worrying

Good evening everyone
What a glorious day today was! Can't believe I was in my shorts on 9 March!
Mr SA was fine on Friday without carer. He's got another day without him on Tuesday. Thing is I am meant to be having my "me day" then. I've got hairdressers first thing then I was going to have a wander round town. Might go to work after hair now as feel guilty being off when Mr SA is home alone. I'll probably just have half a day now. We went in town Saturday so not really in a shopping mood and don't want to have day off with him Tuesday as he'll only want to go out for lunch which gets expensive. On Saturday he wanted to go for "just one drink" which became two drinks and then he wanted to eat but I wasn't really hungry so I ended up getting him a bowl of chips even though he really wanted something bigger. Also had a battle with him wanting to buy himself expensive clothes saying he might not have long left. Tried hard to get through to him I can't magic money from nowhere and I'm busting a gut trying to keep us on just my wages. Next weekend I'm determined to find us something to do that doesn't involve shopping or pubs! We are so limited to where we can go due to lack of transport and Mr SA's reduced mobility.
He enjoyed being without carer so much he now wants to get rid of him. He says it's time he moved on towards being more independent. I'm going to ring council again tomorrow and see if I can get any joy.
Have got that heavy gloomy Sunday night feeling - is it just me or does anyone else get it?I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
SA .. I totally understand that Sunday evening feeling. Used to love my job, but now I dread Mondays. That comment about " not having long left " ...really tugs at your emotions . Makes it so much harder to deny someone
Trust me, been there, done that, only just threw out the guilt filled tee shirt . Stay strong. XxIts just a bad day, Not a bad life .. :cool:0 -
I think if I was you I'd go to work Tuesday afternoon and save half a day's holiday for another day.
I used to get that horrid Sunday evening blues until I stopped working Mondays, just couldn't shake that back to work/where has my weekend gone feeling.
I found this website that may help:

Thanks both. Thanks for the article link granny - I've just had a quick read but will look in more depth later. I think the Sunday night blues all stems back to school days when you had to have a bath and get your uniform out. Still feel a bit "flat" today when usually I'm full of enthusiasm on a Monday (don't worry the enthusiasm has usually gone by Tuesday!).
Have decided to just take the morning off tomorrow. I'll get my hair done, go for a coffee then half a quick look at the shops en route to work. Then I won't be wasting my flexi time.
Dog emptied out the contents of the kitchen bin last night and ate left over curry. You can guess the rest - was up and down with her all night. And to top it all an owl was hooting very loudly for the best part of the early hours. Yawn!
Weight-wise stayed the same this week. Hardly surprising given that I've had two meals out and far too much wine this past week! Had a great time though! Back to reality this week!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Sorry you've had a less than perfect couple of days, must be something in the air! Hope you feel a bit perkier now.
Enjoy the pampering tomorrow XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Ended up going for a run on my treadmill Monday night which perked up my mood no end! Had a nice morning off yesterday, although strangely don't really enjoy having my hair done, I don't know why. Got another £20 in vouchers from work as someone had nominated me for a job I'd done for them that was a real ordeal. That's £60 in vouchers I've had this month! I'm on a roll!
Mr SA will be getting his assessment next Monday so we're going to see about getting the care package reduced. He starts his childhood vaccinations programme tomorrow, his next MRI scan has come through for next month and he starts speech therapy tomorrow. It's all go for him!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Happy Friday everyone
Sorted out finances today and have paid another £50 off debt so now owe £2540 and added £6.67 to the VSP so now have £96.54 in there -so close to that first £100!
Mr SA still ok. He's had another carer-free day today. I've got him some seed trays and seeds as he is enjoying pottering around in the garden in all this gorgeous sunshine. It's something easy he can do and not physical.
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
No sun here
Tad windy.
Enjoy your weekend
